Absolutely unfortunately. Get an IR gun for 20ish bucks and then you can check your temps. Do that at different temps and times of the day until you find an average of the difference between leaf and ambient and then you can set your controller to display what you think the leaf temps are. I err on the side of showing my temperature a degree or two higher than what the leaf temps usually are in reality so I’m careful not to exceed the maximum optimal leaf temps.

Truth is right now it’s just cold as fuck and they’re never warm enough..

That’s just what I do. Not saying that’s what you should do. I’m a newbie at growing pot..

If you’re trying to maximize the full potential of your plant then yes there’s all kinds of scientific studies about the perfect temperature, humidity to get the most out of your plants. But these plants are tough and grow in all kinds of less than ideal conditions. I don’t necessarily follow it with my grows because of trouble dialing in my environment but there’s lots of good info out there if you’re interested. Just have to look up V.P.D or vapor pressure deficit.

I can keep my Temps in range for the most part, but the rh is always off......

As I type this, the funds aren't available for my hobby.......other things in life get that.....

But seriously......you can grow in shitty situations......

If you can keep it semi right, you'll still get a good harvest.....you have to be on top of everything that is in your control.....

Do I advise doing things against what has been tried and true or scientificly proven....hell no.....

If I didn't have a wife and two beautiful children with a house payment and all the other bills, I for sure would get at least mid-grade stuff that would definitely help improve my hobby....

Yes.....I struggle sometimes, but I manage my areas the best I can with what I have.....

Once I picked a friend up two hours from the airport late at night. His flight was super late so by the time he arrived I was somewhat buzzed on Johnny Walker. I was driving back on the freeway and had a cup of scotch and a half smoking joint we were sharing. He made some comment to the effect of “you’re not worried about getting stopped at a road block?”

I was like, “nah, I’ve never seen a roadblock on the interstate, ever.” Coming up to the top of a hill, I shit you not I literally barely got those words out before seeing the ominous glow of flashing cop lights. “No fucking way” I thought to myself..

Todd set the strong smelling cup of liquor on the floor and calmly put the joint out. No question the car smelled like booze and weed.

I slowed down for the mysterious fucking road block and showed him my license. I immediately asked him with friendly curiosity, “why the stop on the freeway?”

He said they were actively looking for someone who had just committed manslaughter. We were friendly with each other and off we went, thank god!!

One time back in like 2009 I had a friend from Chicago staying with me in Colorado. This was when weed was still illegal recreationally but medicinal was everywhere in Colorado. So was black market weed and people driving to/from Colorado trafficking weed. So, one time we were on our way to Chicago and we had just crossed the Kansas state line. We had brought like a 1/4 lb of some brick weed with us for the road trip (we both smoked blunts like cigarettes so we needed at least a 1/4lb for the trip lol).

As we crossed the state line and I was driving, I told my buddy to stash the brick real good in case we got pulled over or something. Then I shit you not we came over a hill, and there was one of those lit-up construction signs they can program with different messages that said "Drug Checkpoint Ahead" and 1000 feet after that, on the side of the interstate was this police station wagon lookin' vehicle, that had what looked like 4 separate cages for K-9's in the back and clearly stated K-9 unit, along with a couple state trooper cars.

I don't know how we got through it - maybe they had just set up and hadn't started stopping people yet? I couldn't tell. They weren't blocking traffic or making anyone stop, yet, that I know of.. I didn't know if they just had the K-9's posted up on the side of the road, and they were waiting for the dogs to react as someone drove by, or if they were just stopping random people, but that was a white knuckle trip through Kansas, for sure.

Another time in Laramie, Wyoming a buddy and I had just smoked a joint hot boxing my car and we pulled into the Walmart parking lot in the middle of the night one snowy night, and I did a couple donuts in the parking lot. A cop was watching and swiftly pulled us over and I know she had to smell the weed. We sprayed a bunch of ozium and each lit up a cigarette before we rolled down the windows, but still.. She had to smell it. There's no way she didn't. I think she only let us off because we were both just a couple of 18 year old dumb fuck college kids and Wyoming is pretty tough on crime so I believe she just let us go.

Another heads up for anyone when you post pictures or videos you can remove location. Nothing against any of you but we are on the internet.

If you are on a Windows computer you should always do the following to images before posting them online - right click the image, select properties, select the "Details" tab, at the bottom click "Remove Properties and Personal Information", in the following window select the 2nd option to "Remove the following properties from this file" and the at the bottom, select "Select All" and hit OK.

This will remove all location information among other information that could trace the image back to you.

It depends on how the parent genetics evolved to an extent as well. Different plants have different strategies for coping with VPD stress, both high and low. So let’s say you take a landrace from Nepal and a land race from Mexico and stick them under the same LED light source in the same grow space. I guarantee as you take the VPD up and down in that space that the leaf surface temperatures of the two plants under the exact same conditions will vary by a minimum of a half a degree at most values and respond differently.

Put them under HPS lights and they will probably vary even more dramatically as plants have to adapt their conductance capacities to climates with very different UV and IR exposure.

Under LED’s and in the absence of IR, the plants have a pressure variable that the plants weirdly don’t have to respond to. It’s odd.

But to the former, I’m quite sure that’s why studies are inconclusive with respect to how supplemental UV lights do or don’t cause an increase in “quality.” I’d venture to guess that a landrace that is exposed to lower levels of UV in its natural habitat would be the one that increases in trichomes/terpenes because it would be a stress response. A landrace that is used to higher UV probably doesn’t give a shit if you hit em’ with it.

All of these variables are fascinating and, in my estimation they are precious. The endless meddling with genetics destroys the quality of marijuana on an essential level. On the quantitative level not so much. I’m not talking about lab studies of molecule percentages. Do you pine for the newest sativa cross with the highest THC ever recorded by man or do you want the fucking real Neville’s Haze? Quantity is related to substance. Quality is related to essence. Lab technicians measure substance where essence will always escape him as he has at best an inkling of its existence.

Take some peyote in Mexico. Now take some San Pedro in Peru. Your experience will be very, very different. Yet, the measurable substance that we are told causes our experience is mescaline. The unquantifiable essence is the meat and potatoes of whatever trip you’d take..

Yes, I agree it's a good tip However in the event you know cracker or hacker be very nice to them you will never stop them if you make them mad. Moat of hacking is social engineering some barely touch a computer. Linux is the most secure OS,once you put adobe or anything on mac os you are in trouble, windows is so complex they sneak back doors amd viruses in the updates that slip through a lot! Windows is garbage at vetting them. So long story short do whatever makes you feel better,, but your never gonna stop a malicious individual who is determined, so many vectors of attack if you have friends and family online. You should clear out your e-mail periodically because that has bank info, logins, etc etc etc....that's hey best time you can do is always monthly, weekly whatever clear that shit out. Don't overthink it yet, plants are like people each Genetic has different preferences within the range. Like random guy Bob may like it in then 60s and random guy Jim likes it in the 80s, you know what I'm saying?
