Pro set up brother …questions…. what’s the pots sitting on just a bowl of perlite? Is that to just catch the runoff and not have it spill all over or puddle up? If so good idea…

Hey thanks dude! I'm using the saucers as a reservoir that i water from the bottom. They each hold around three and a half gallons of water empty and a little over two gallons with the perlite added while still leaving an air gap between the bottom of the pot and the water. This allows the perlite to act as a wick, transferring water from the saucer up to the bottom of the bag as needed. It works kind of like an earthbox with a much larger wicking area. I believe the acronym for this type of watering system is SWICK.
