It’s all good Dadman, we all struggle one way or another, but we learn from our mistakes as much as we learn from our successes. I’ve been growing for about six years now, pretty much continuously. I still haven’t found my style yet, but that’s the best part about it, I’m always learning either from personal experiences or other people’s experiences thanks to sites like this. Those different points of view are what makes life interesting, otherwise we’d all be talking to ourselves in the mirror like Stewart Smally

From my experience Autofocus with Maco/Micro Shots never really work well even with perfect conditions and Top Tier Cameras. What you might wanna try is something along this:

Not sure about the right English name but should be something along the line of Fast focus ring, im using something similar but its made as a Kitchen aid to assist in opening Jars. Couldnt locate it right now throwing down another pic once i found it.

That’s research right there, taking the time to read peoples post and resposes, asking questions and all that stuff is really just research, doesn’t require a lab coat and a tuition fee. Hands on knowledge and experience is the easiest way to learn for most people. Don’t lose confidence in yourself, if you’re 0-4 keep trying till you bury your losses. I posted a while back about all of my failed attempts to bring something to harvest, I finally got one dried and jarred and in the record books, boom on to the next one. See what I can do better. Eventually you’ll pull off something that makes you smile, you’ll be sitting there saying to yourself , Damn I grew that, big old shit eating grin 😀 on your face! It’s gonna happen, just keep trying!!

Honestly it's true. Gotta give yourself some nutrients and lst sometimes.

Check out YouTube search for Mr Grow It, microbiology, it’s an interview based podcast and a quick search brings up some very informative videos. There’s a couple videos on his channel where they talk about microbial diversity and it’s affect on terpene production. I love learning about that stuff. Also I don’t know if you use it already but there’s a product called Recharge , from real growers it’s a microbial inoculant. Water soluble, works great with any style of growing. I use it in my garden once a week. Plants seem to like it.

Here’s an interesting video with Mr Grow It, and Guru, formerly of the Dude Grows Channel. He’s a wealth of information very smart dude.
