Hey rd.....what everyone has said pretty much sums it up......

Or does it?

So if we've not met, I'll pull a plant if it looks at another plant......clear....milky....amber......doesn't matter.....

What I've come to realize is this.....

I'm a Sativa guy....the wife is an Indica girl.....

Sativas can take forever, Indicas take less time.....

I can have the best of both worlds with any type of seed I want.....I'm not that Amber person....at all!

And here's the thing that'll get my ass in trouble here....

When I pull my plant, it is when I want....

Sometimes ALL clear, with a touch of 🥛.......

Most times it's ALL 🥛!!!!!!!

Very ever rarely do I get over 10% amber!

So.......I gain a shit ton, while losing a shit ton......make sense?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the whole trichome color "conventional wisdom" will be proven to be bro science in the near future. I think is mostly strain dependent.

No it's not at all, cbn is sleepy, thc and cbd convert to cbn over time and make the trichs amber. It's their ripening process

I almost always think to myself how hard it is to advise someone about when to harvest. I've harvested at various stages of ripeness and liked all of it. I had to force myself to be patient the first time I waited to harvest late, but it was the only way to know if I'd like it. I did, but I also like it when it's harvested earlier. As far as I know, there's a wide range of possibilities. It's not like there's one special harvest day that's better than any other day.

I'll be harvesting pineapple express super late then. I harvested great white shark when milky and some amber but not much. Here's one of the main colas of great white shark that's indoor.

I understand changing strains can be like a tolerance break. It seems to work for us. I also like to blend. Right now, I have a Haze, Jack Herer and Gelato blend that's amazing. We're low on stock right now, though, so we're looking forward to a harvest soon. We have some Bubblegum and Acapulco Gold that will be ready in a week or so.
I was thinking the same and have 2 strains growing... or trying to LOL. One is looking weak. :(

I'm a meat and potatoes grower. Canna coco coir bricks mixed with perlite, fabric pots, and some fox farms nutrients and my plants love it. Not an expensive medium to run. The light tho is the most expensive item for growing. Unless there's a cheaper brand now kingbrite in China sells the cheapest full spectrum LEDs with Samsung LEDs. Mine was around $500 for a 650 watt but I seen big brands like AC Infinity sells for hundreds more.

Also I saw you were worried about over watering. It's damn near impossible to over water with coco coir because it doesn't compact like soil. You can completely drench coco coir in fabric pots and your roots will be fine.

Yeah I try not to smoke much so I feel just relaxed. The weed I grew just hits me like a brick compared to the commercial California dispensary weed that just sucks. Will see if mostly amber trichomes makes a difference and see if I get that couchlock buzz that just makes me chill and not think about aliens and the government
Hey, watch it with those references to aliens. Some of my most respected associates are aliens who are all by the way expert swimmers that crossed the Rio Grande River with ease and in record time.

Nah those aliens are fine. I love me some Latinas. I mean the aliens that fly around in spaceships anal probing people

Everyone is different. Everyone processes Cannabinoids differently. Everyone has different preferences.

A general paranoid person will have a higher chance of elevating that with any Cannabis.

It’s just like the myth of Anabolic Steroids causing anger and rage. If you’re already an asshat super dickhead, you’ll probably act at an elevated level of that during your cycle.

There is definitely some strains that cause me more paranoia than others. I guess I'll find out if the later harvest of my next plant makes a difference. She's ready now but I'll let those trichomes get atleast 40 percent amber

That’s going to taste like shit. I’d try harvesting at 75% milky first.

Clear cloudy amber....

Clear - head high, paranoia feeling....🥴

Cloudy - highest thc content!!!!!!!!!! 😎

Amber - thc degrades 🤢🤮

Haha.....coming from someone who harvested a 30 day Alien......in my defense...it was 30 days flowering, not from flip.....🤔😛

I have diagnosed GAD and i can tell you with 100% certainty that a heavy indica can put you in a way more uncomfortable place than any sub 20% sativa can. Some of the indicas ive smoked made me feel damn near schizophrenic, especially the hybrids. I generally steer one way or the other these days, meaning either extremely sativa leaning or indica leaning. Works better with my brain chemistry.

As far as when to chop, i dont want any amber in my sativas, some in my indicas, and about the same for hybrids. Thats all strain dependent tho, cookies lineages i harvest as i would with sativas. Much more upbeat, sociable, and creative.

I need a better jewelers loupe. Mine can't zoom in that close. It's a vivosun jewelers loupe. Maybe I should buy a whole damn microscope 🔬

I tried loupes but have such a shaky hand (tm) that I can never keep them still enough so ended up going with a cheap, knock off microscope from amazon with an even cheaper mic stand you can slot it in to. It's amazing, no shakes and and you can get right in to weeds (hoho) as it were. Crystal clear, highly recommend it. I can post them up if you want. I usually harvest with anywhere between 10-20% as a yardstick amber but it's definitely not an exact science for me as still learning and as already said, everyone is different.

I'm totally with you as well, I want no raciness, just pain numbing, opiate like effects please (with some added euphoria thrown in...lol). I have read and am about to find out that if you run a THC/CBD strain this can take away a lot of the paranoia as the CBD rounds the edges off. I can see that as use gummies the same so I'm looking forward to trying my first strain of that in a few weeks (Aunt Ginny's Elixir from Mephisto). Maybe give one a go in your next grow?

Yes CBD definitely gets rid of some of the anxiety and paranoia. Usually though if I just take a hit off indica dominant strains I'm fine. I have to be careful because a big hit can give me paranoia for like an hour and it's horrible
