It’s very difficult to actually “burn” plants with LED’s. Cannabis plants can’t get too much light. They only process what they can use. This is why they grow so much more happy/agressive outside in direct sunlight at 2000-2400ppfd.
I’ve bleached the very top of a few colas, but they were literally touching the LED bar at 108°F. 2” below that, the buds and leaves were still perfect. That distance, they were seeing betwen 1200-1400ppfd.
I veg all my plants at at least 550-650ppfd at 400W and 14-18” above the canopies.
Environment and nutrient processing is much more important.
This. Ive had some cola tips like 3 inches off nearly 500 watt panels, but they grew that close on their own. Not without it's issues of course. Light burn or bleaching wasn't one of them.
When i was running HPS lights, as long a si could keep temps managed, ive had plant grow on their own to within a foot of the light or closer. And i have even had bud tips bleach snow white. But everything under it was still fine. Just fine. If not absolutely fantastic lol.
OP, seems like ya may have a bit of a PH problem in the other direction. A nice flush followed by a feed will prob get you back on track. That thing i said about burpee bricks having inconsistent PH, keep an eye on that probably.
By those burpee bricks having inconsistent PH, i dont just mean when it comes fresh from the cellophane(although this too), or brick to brick (although this too), i mean while using it, the PH can do strange things sometimes. At least as of several years ago. Flushing/buffering the coco bricks before using became a religious thing for me. Never had that issue with bagged coco, but it was a lot more expensive too.
Unfortunately I'm kindof on a tight schedule most of days and I don't always have the time to hand water that slowly. I have a slow watering can though I don't just dump it in, I do circles around the plant.
I just fill a 32 ounce aquafina bottle. I twisted a wood screw through the lid to make a hole.
I squeeze the bottle while constantly moving with a single stream. im a cheapskate though. Takes longer. Works very well though. But, come ooooooooon, whats an extra 5 mins with the ladies gonna hurt? An extra 5 mins here, extra 5 there, can make a world of difference to the end result with this plant.
