Interesting..

I forgot to mention an important piece of data. Only one of 6 or 7 strains is doing this. Also, it was fed slowly under less light all winter and didn’t do this.

There’s another cutting from this bonsai mom in here and it’s doing the single and triple bladed leaf as well.

So this strain is asking for something that it isn’t getting..

My intuition is that it needs more photosynthetic energy from the supplemental light that kicks on when the sun sets.
that columbian land race was the only one ive ever had that did this that dramatically in my own garden. It's something a lot of the feralized wild hemp in north and south america does too. Ruderalis land races also do it.

Anybody who's ever changed an alternator on ford's 90s-early 2000s DOHC v6. The opne you have to remove the wheel hub and suspension knuckle/tie rod ends to pull out. Or you could disassemble the entire radiator assembly and it's hoses, that worked too.

That engine was quite literally designed to start leaking oil from the valve covers right into your impossible to replace alternator immediately upon warranty expiration. When you fixed that, it was also intentionally designed to leak water directly into the sump if the water pump goes.

I actually took a job that had me working on those engines weekly once upon a time. But i was a real dumb kid.

Meme: Stolen.

That's what id probably do. If you arent intentionally trying to make it grow slowly at least. If the light is at least a good bit noticeably brighter then a clear full moon overhead, itll keep most plants from thinking its night time. At least in my experience lol

Seems plenty bright right? It’s like a 60 watt incandescent “equivalent” LED bulb.

They act like they’re sleeping anyways though, most of them, the way they drop. But only the one strain has given me any trouble so far.

maybe put another lamp down low lighting them from underneath. Or one of those cheap 6000k led shop bars or something.

Id def use cool white over soft above em too with lower light levels, it reflects off surfaces better. Bt thats only according to eyes.

Id prob be using a 36 or 42w CFL over a home LED as well. Plants tend to prefer florescent lighting across the board to LED if you can apply them usefully in my experience. Plants definitely, 100%, without a doubt transition between floro and sunlight better then LED and sunlight too. Home Led's also have those refraction bubbles that scatter the light on em, and reguardless of luminous flux at the chips, the light is coming from a smaller amount of surface area and being refracted evenly in a nearly 360 degree field, it will decay with distance from source much faster then a panel LED or a CFL will.

About halfway or more down those plants, theyre probably not actually seeing any more light then a bright direct overhead full moon. You can stick your head under plants outside and see the light glow through their leaves under an overhead fool moon.

is also why i stress that small light leaks do not cause hermies, but Changing the photoperiod can. Any number of mild or intense stressors can. But only if it's allowable in the plant's genetics, and small light leaks, are not a mild stressor, the plants literally evolved along side them for longer then our species has even existed. You can literally read a book and play a 1st gen non-backlit game boy under a full moon and it'll be bright enough to do so for 4 nights in a row every 28 days if weather is clear 🤣
