It’s a reality, and when it hit one of my banner runs a few years back I kept the plant and grew it out. I took proper precautions to ensure no transfer to the rest, but unfortunately I had to scrap the entire pheno, and start over. It is what itis, but here’s a a look, kinda weird shit really, the deformed colas def were odd, the plant had dark sections, light sections in pigment, it reminded me of the comic character 2 face.
Figured y’all may book mark this in case you run into it yourselves…..

could someone clear something up for me....

when i could get skunk decades ago i'm pretty sure it was indica but since the last ten years it seems as if real skunk is sativa.. now i'll admit i grabbed some bud of green crack several years ago that was as skunky as anything i've ever had and from the bud density it had to be sativa....

From my experience plugs sold all kinds of weed as "Skunk" back in the day man. To my knowledge OG Skunk is sativa and very much so.

Its hard to find those genetics these days. Its difficult to grow indoors and to mask the smell and theres better stuff out there now.

Yeah but there was a lot of that would snag those Wookiee motherfuckers and call bs, there was also heads that definitely got the true blue real McCoy back in day. Like I’m growing landrace mowie wowie, completely untouched for 38 years. I kept them myself,it’s uncrossed and it’s growing like a an Oldschool sative does, it took 18 days for preflower on the fems. so the genetics are out there, bc I’m not the only one to hold on to strains that long, the real issue is the folks that still have it around, don’t ever share it. And yeah, it’s gonna be a lower thc then cookies ect. But for me, the Oldschool flavor contributes to the high ina way, that if I close my eyes and think back, I can recall those terps.
A lot of strains from nowadays taste like ass, and just aren’t memorable. That’s my deal.
Old school genetics have their place., especially for breeders.

I grew and bred with skunk#1 from the mid 80s to the mid-90s, in my opinion its structure closely resembles cheese (indo) and the only time I've smelled it in the last decade was when I was growing cheese, searching for it, as its supposedly related. Some cheese had the same smell only a thousand times more mild. I could not stop the stink from S#1, you didn't even have to be smoking it, it was overwhelming just growing

I bet you are right sir. I didnt start messing around with this at all until the nineties and out in the sticks without internet so my source of info had a hat he had made himself out of a pair of socks and a coffee filter. He smelled like my pet lizard. Anyhow, I stand corrected.

Yeah man, I’m crazy Leary of it now. It’s a bummer, I coulda kept on just breeding that banner line, and not care about that viral bs being bred in, but there was no way in hell I was ever going to continue a pheno with That crap in there. I’ve been scared of these 2 virus for more than a few years now. I’m fairly certain I haven’t been hit by hlvd, that’s the fucking boogy man to me. No outward signs until the grow is mid-late flower? Yeah fuck that shit. 8, check that, 9 times
