Oh they devour the raspberry bushes, amd yea with acreage it isn't worth it I agree. Picking them off is a pia but effective if you are consistent. It's nice when the weather is shit so it gives you a break. They love geraniums and they paralyze them temporarily

Good to know. I have lots of land to experiment with, so next year, I'll plant some geraniums.
Hmmmm, have to start from seed, the bedding plants are getting pretty expensive to use as a trap crop.
And Basil works to trap them, not paralyze but they love to eat it.

Well, I can say definitely that the flavors have been bastardized imo. Just like when you take all the colors on the pallet, and mix them, you end up with some paint sure, but it is just grey. Mix up all of these strains the way they do, flavor is that grey paint imo.
I was just speaking with a couple homies about skywalker og, smells great tastes like burnt cardboard. That’s just one example.
I think growers should be building their own favorites strains from landrace ensuring you keep a mind to keep the genesis seed/strain pure. And push those too. It’s one of the only ways. To keep the privately held real deal from disappearing completely.

i’ve been bitchin about this off and on to friends for 30 yrs,. it’s the main reason i quit smoking weed as it all became indoor and no more imported weed but hashish was still imported and that’s what i’ve been smoking since,.

I have been saying for a while, if I think hard enough, I can almost conjur taste of my favorites from back then. It wasn’t just the high, its was the taste in concert with the high that imprinted itself. I cannot say the same about most things you find nowadays, but there are definitely still some rad ones. Just not as memorable. Pk ultra and Willie Nelson and trainwreck are amazing and I haven’t had versions of any of those that were like they were 25 years ago.

NL is one of the few that always turns my crank and while a hybrid it too is pretty close to landrace.

We didn't start hybridizing weed until the 70's and maybe we've done a disservice thinking we were creating new and better strains, for the most part but some are better, imho than what we started with as I want smell, taste and flavor over high.

When GDP hit in the 80's I had found my strain. Only 18% THC on avg but the grapes and berries are wonderful

breeding/breeders are unintentionally ruining the true essence of marijuana,.. and it’s not tolerance for the last 30 yrs it’s crappy weed,..

A number on a test report isn't everything. Ime it's honestly pretty irrelevant. Many breeders have been destroying camnabis' heart and soul IMHO. And the levels of inbreeding going on when you could just make s1's and take clones is kinda absurd. Good oldschool sativa's are the best anxiety relief I've ever found in my life. Modern sativa's cause anxiety. That alone tells you most breeders are only breeding on numbers on paper and bag appeal, nothing else.

What matters to me is how the plant wants to grow, and how happy the flower is when consumed. How how little it needs it's hand held during.

Cali blues is a purpose built blueberry strain I. Made, trustfalls frostette is a grape badass his okie cman is a lemon bar fresh baked out the oven.

100% agree there, I’ve met a few homies here who have made some interesting and delicious strains. Also, I know smoking cigs for 40 did not do any favors to my pallet. All things considered, I was more or less speaking on the dispensary herb and large volume boutiques. It seems the private artisan route is the road to flavortown.

That Columbian land race tested 12% max. Had a cbn content too tho. And my tolerance was too high to really enjoy it thanks to all the modern stuff.


But I made wax from that plant, and the happy go lucky, anxiety free, Chinese eyed shit eating grin high that I haven't had since highschool was right along with it. That plant changed the cannabis world forever for me. There is a bit of tolerance play with it, but that character is absolutely genetic.

The peaceblaster offspring largely have kept that happy care free smiley character too but I can consume them with tolerance as flower. But that F1 was also made using only the happiest phenotypes I've ever grown and smoked.

Take a rip of that fast blaster I had in KC, and ya just slowly bleed into a smile and some music and one hella good mood. It was great. Some of my all time favorite flower, so excited about PB 1-4 this season :3
