The best dogs are non inbred F1. The best horses are non inbred F1. The best aucchini plants are nonin red F1. The best rabbits are non inbred F1. The best "insert separated sexed species here" are all non inbred F1s.
A non F1 horse hasn't won the Kentucky derby in over 50 years lol. All the dog long jumps are dominated by F1s. The largest fruit records are all held by F1s.
And I would bet every cent to my name, that the largest, fastest growing, highest yielding, highest resin content cannabis plant out there in the world, is a non inbred F1 lol. And it probably performs at a level a single generation of inbreeding would likely damage the potential of. Even if it gives every plant that one terpene ya like or something like that. Just take clones or make s1's if that's something you want to pursue IMHO.
I'm pretty sure at this point s1's are downplayed just to protect the "mystique" around developing cannabis strains. Hell half the fem seeds you buy from seed banks today are just s1's of a selected phenotype
