But really I am going to have to pull my 2 15 gallons out of my small tent to do this. I’m seriously thinking about just doing a fast sea of green. But I think it is all from seed?or can we cut clones?

I’m liking the turnout! 41 yes’s! Hopefully we get more when the competition goes live

We can continue chatting here, start date most likely in beginning of august we’ll see how many people will be ready near the end of July and start getting ready for august start!

Atm our plan is it’ll be from seed, I have a few strains I wanna try only have a single seed of each or 2, after taking with @Captspaulding i may put up the top 5 I wanna try and let you all choose my stain in a seperate poll , unless I get really into one of them before then that’s probably my plan, too hard for me to pick a single strain to try lol, plus mine will all be from bag seed from 2012 so I’ll be planning to take a cut of whatever I can get to sprout

Might be fem male female herm who knows but it’s worth the shot to save some old genetics

This is too great of a temptation. I've been kicking around ideas for pulling off a winter outdoor tent grow for a long time. I don't have the space for indoors atm. But I wouldn't be able to doing anything in August. For me it would need to be after harvest us in a processed. So more like Nov.

I’ll get with cap for future ones maybe we’ll put together bag of seeds for the next one and everyone joining will get 2 seeds to enter with etc,

Also had ideas for maybe another solo cup challenge,

Other ideas to help people to try new techniques, most have only grown in soil / peat etc, maybe do a mini hydro challenge with bubble buckets only, 4” net cup 5 gallon bucket and air stones, I’ve never run any style of hydro before but I’d try it for fun (I just happen to have a stack of 3” net pots, air stones and buckets laying around so hell I might just try it myself lol

I’m thinking we’ll do seed splash, or give 7 days for germ a planting, 2-3 weeks for veg then flip is required for everyone at once, on a predetermined date, it’ll be training that sets everyone apart, is it worth the risk to top/ and time to recover in the minimal veg time, is LST a better option, etc etc

Why don't we have a contest where we grow plants upside down lmfao.
Put your light on the floor, hang your pot from the ceiling, bottom of the pot would have a lid so you could water, top of pot would be closed so your medium doesn't fall out but has a hole for main stem and drainage lol.

Imagine overwatering on accident and soaking your light

Oh and just drill a 3/4” hole in the center of the bottom of the pot, grow the seeding out through the hole to start then flip it

Water through the top / bottom / whatever through the open, normally top side of the pot

I've been having a recurring dream about this. Damn you all! I open my tent to a sea of towering colas from wall to wall. I peek underneath and see this disproportionately tiny pot and break into a Sheldon Cooper moment. "They all said I was mad! Bwahahaha!!!!" But I did it!!!
