Lol, out here in the sticks of southern appalachia...

I managed to find a compressed bail of peat at a pet store.

I found a mostly full bag of medium perlite in a shed at work. I still havent been able to find any at any stores here, and closest hydro store is like an hour away lol. I baked it in the oven before i used it too. This shit could be a decade old idk.

Shipping charges for stuff that takes up that much space out here is absurd too. And amazon only guarantees 3 day delivery with prime too lmao.

Im not sure what im going to do when the perlite runs out. Thatll happen sometimes this weekend as i up pot all my seedlings and clones.

Sounds crazy but in my pepper pots I used half composted… compost, still woody, big chunks, I use it in my outdoor pots in pace of perlite. The rest of my 5 gallon pepper pots I used a mix of top soil, peat and store bought compost. The ones I use my compost in, they drain excellent, dry back in 24hours to 36 hours and since it’s still breaking down it’s constantly feeding, next year I’ll take all the soil from these bags, and reuse it all freshly amended, next year I’ll add about 80lbs of peat and probably a full 25 lb bag of perlite plus new amendments, im looking at a 50 pack of 10 gallon bags on Amazon for $70 fuckin amazing price, thinking of doing 50-70 5 gallon pots in a seperate garden next year with peppers and other veggies

Did 15 5 gallon pots this year to test it out and they are doing as good if not better than the same plants from the same seeds in the ground

They have the remaster out now D2 resurrected on switch but it’s not the same

The animal crossing edition, animal crossing edition is my wife’s, probably has. 6 hours of gameplay on it in 3 years it’s brand new

Then a pink lite and a yellow lite

These are just my games the kids probably have 30 more lol plus tons of digital so bought all 4 saints row games for $1.99 each a year ago on a sale still haven’t even downloaded them

Welcome to the Lazarus Project

So I decided to try to pop some of these 30+ yr old seeds. I got like 13 to 15 reg seeds of 3 old strains. I put 2 of each on paper towel between 2 plates. I drew a grid and labeled them on the paper towel.

I took some fine sandpaper and rolled a cylinder then used duct tape to hold it together. Put the seeds in and shook the hell out of it for a minute.

Then put them in the cupboard in my really warm kitchen which is about 86F right now.

I have good news. 2 of the Purple Thunder seeds popped. One had about an inch taproot in just 3 days. The other cracked the ridge and a taproot can be seen just inside.

I put the one in a rapid rooter in a small humidity seedling starter kit.

I selected the 2 best seeds each of Purple Thunder, Pineapple and Big Bud 89.. I based it off the shape and color of the seeds. These seeds still looked dark and weren't as grey or greenish waxy looking as the others.

Saints row the third was a lot of fun back in the PS3 days I remember. Diablo 2 is a classic banger for sure

My favourites are the Fallout games. 2 in particular. Its the series who drives me to buy new hardware. Im on the fence with consoles and stuff but when one of those are released I need something to play it on.

Now Im into this game called Galactic something, Deep Rock Galactic! Had to check. Its pretty casual, but who isnt?

I trade them to people, we gotta bring back bartering, some small towns like mine people still do it, but it’s the only way to get out of goverment control, no money involved, goods for services, or trade.

The US dollar is going down the shitter anyways, we’ve basically cut back on all luxuries, the wife has a few little things she likes to do, I like to grow my weed and garden, kids are happy as long as they have art materials and some snacks, we cut our basically anything unneeded, plus when we do shop we use local ranchers for our food is possible, neighbors like to hunt, I’ll get a whole deer, tested, and fully butchered and packaged this fall from my neighbor in exchange for all the homemade bread and homegrown veggies we give them during the summer

When I did the 14 year old seeds I did scarification (same method as you roll tape shake) then 12 hour soak in 20:1 water /peroxide

Then straight to the soil, watered in with clonex clone and seedling solution, got 2/3 to pop, gunna do some more oldies soon I’ll be doing the same method

I also got the seeds between my fingers took the sandpaper and sanded down the split ridge down the seed so it had less resistance to pop

I have this bag of thousands of mixed seeds. I cant remember why I did this shit like 20+ years ago. Dumb as a fucking rock. What was I thinking? But its pretty exiting trying to grow them now
I dont have your guys experience obviously, so I just germinate them like I was thought once, wet paper towel in a plastic bag on a radiator

Thing is, so far about 90% out of the ones I tried has germinated just fine and grown to show sex without any issues. Dumb luck maybe.

I sometimes feel like the less I know, the better my luck is, lol, so I just scroll by stuff I dont want to know
