I trade them to people, we gotta bring back bartering, some small towns like mine people still do it, but it’s the only way to get out of goverment control, no money involved, goods for services, or trade.

The US dollar is going down the shitter anyways, we’ve basically cut back on all luxuries, the wife has a few little things she likes to do, I like to grow my weed and garden, kids are happy as long as they have art materials and some snacks, we cut our basically anything unneeded, plus when we do shop we use local ranchers for our food is possible, neighbors like to hunt, I’ll get a whole deer, tested, and fully butchered and packaged this fall from my neighbor in exchange for all the homemade bread and homegrown veggies we give them during the summer

Welcome to the Lazarus Project

So I decided to try to pop some of these 30+ yr old seeds. I got like 13 to 15 reg seeds of 3 old strains. I put 2 of each on paper towel between 2 plates. I drew a grid and labeled them on the paper towel.

I took some fine sandpaper and rolled a cylinder then used duct tape to hold it together. Put the seeds in and shook the hell out of it for a minute.

Then put them in the cupboard in my really warm kitchen which is about 86F right now.

I have good news. 2 of the Purple Thunder seeds popped. One had about an inch taproot in just 3 days. The other cracked the ridge and a taproot can be seen just inside.

I put the one in a rapid rooter in a small humidity seedling starter kit.

I selected the 2 best seeds each of Purple Thunder, Pineapple and Big Bud 89.. I based it off the shape and color of the seeds. These seeds still looked dark and weren't as grey or greenish waxy looking as the others.

thats awesome man, can you post a pic of the sand paper cylinder you used. ive got some old seeds be trying something like that on them. that tap root looks super healthy.

Any idea what era the seeds are from? Was it bunk bud or fire you pulled seeds from?

I was given a handful from an old guy back around 2003 and then I kept adding bagseeds and shit to it. I drank a lot back then, sorry, but it comes from people around here. I never thought I would grow again so I just kept them around. Put a couple in soil outside the police station in the spring and such.

Yea no doubt with the Castro part! Fuck electric anything! If I can run it on gas I do, my hot water, furnace, stoves, then for heat we used the furnace maybe 3 times last winter (in conjunction with the wood stoves it was -25f gimme a break ) when it’s super cold we light up the basement wood stove too lol
