Thx for replying. I’m throwing the moisture meter in the pond! lol I did bump there prosperous up a little on there last feed. So you think I should just go back to what I was feeding them and let them dry out? I’m only giving them 1/2 of what the bag says for that very reasonThey look over-fed (clawing, tip burn) and over-watered (leaf texture). Ocean Forest is a heavily amended soil. I usually get three to four weeks out of a properly-sized pot before I have to feed. Also, OF holds onto water pretty hard. I water OF to runoff, only when the pots are very light. Over-watering is watering too often, not giving too much water at once.

Gotcha, it just threw me for a loop because the other 2 clones in the same media, nutes, lights are doing great. However, they are different strands and have the height. These easily doubled there size with the last stretch. That’s why I was thinking light/heat stress. It’s my fist time with LED’s . Definitely a learning curve. Thx brother for your timeIf I were in your situation, I would wait to water until the pots are very light, and then I would water slowly to about 5-10% runoff. I would measure the EC/ppms of the runoff water, to get a sense of how much nutrient is in the pots already. I wouldn't feed base nutes again until the runoff was at or below 1,000 ppms/2.0 EC. When I run Foxfarm's amended soils, transplanting a few times as the plants grow, I might feed NPK nutes only 3-4 times for the entire grow.
I use mine nearly every day, but I don't rely on it exclusively. I mostly use the probe to look for changes and areas that are drier or wetter than the surrounding soil. In looking for changes, I compare the meter's reading to the appearance of the plant and the RH and VPD.If you say overwatering, I’m throwing my moisture meter in the pond.
I’m just waiting until they get big enough to use those self watering pots. I feel like a bad parent that’s starving his children of water and give in every single time!! lol those clones are probably 2 weeks into flowering, which is why I bumped up the phosphorus. Bad choice. Is there a way to dry them out faster? I’m afraid of root rot is why I’m askingI use mine nearly every day, but I don't rely on it exclusively. OK, what exactly do you mean by runoff? The soil thing is all new to me man. They just legalized it in Ohio and I haven’t grown for 25 years. I did Hydro back then but I thought I would give this a whirl. I think it’s more complicated if you ask me! Lol.Be careful with self-watering pots and Ocean Forest. I'm sure some people have made it work, but it makes over-watering more likely. For me, the easiest way to water Happy Frog and Ocean Forest is to top water slowly to 10% runoff, only when the pots are very light. It usually takes between a quarter and a third of the soil volume.

When I take my PPM, is there anything I can do to get it down quicker? I’m assuming it’s going to be high with what you’ve told me..Be careful with self-watering pots and Ocean Forest. OK, I gotcha. I had to figure out how to get the volume of a pot though! Lol been a long time since high school. So with LEDs man, is there a way to measure the distance I should have them from the top of my plants? I always use the hand test with HPS back in the day but I’m pretty sure you can’t do that with LEDs? I have six northern lights auto flowering going also. They look great, but I’m just worried about the LEDs. It’s a whole new ball game to me.If you have a pot sitting in a tray, watering to 10% runoff means you stop watering when the water accumulated in the tray is about 10% of the volume of the pot. It's not precise. You just need enough water there to take a ppm reading (and insure that the soil is saturated).

OK, I was in a tent, but it was just too damn hot. I just built this room so I’ll give that a try. Those Auto flowers are only three weeks? I’ll mess around with the percentages on the dimmer and see what happens. They seem to like the intensity I have them at now. Thanks for your time brother, I really do appreciate it! I’ll keep you posted.I hang LEDs at the top of the tent, and use the dimmer to adjust the intensity. I start around 25% of full intensity, and ramp up as the plants grow. When the leaves are flat, level, and vibrant green, they're happy with the light.
Yo man, I’m getting ready to flush. Can I just use regular tap if my ph is good? I have some bush doctor sledgehammer coming Monday. I cut off base nutrients two weeks before harvest. Mag sulfur in the penultimate week, and just water the last week. Hopefully someone else with experience with traditional flushing can help.Yo man, I’m getting ready to flush. Can I just use regular tap if my ph is good? Yep, I’m getting mixed opinions. Like always, some people say reverse osmosis, distilled water only and then others are exactly the opposite! I need the distilled water gallons anyways. Lol. I got some stuff called Hygrozem. Gonna add that eventually.I cut off base nutrients two weeks before harvest. Mag sulfur in the penultimate week, and just water the last week.
