Ive decided to make seed in my empty tent. Germinating beans now. With the luck Ive had getting the "right" sexed plants so far I bet they are all females this time But we have a way of making use of those.

Hey anytime I can make some free seeds and you got a fire pheno it’s worth it, even if you don’t plan to run them now, who know in 5 years you might do a huge pheno hunt again and pull the next big thing!

out of 7 OJ x BB seeds popped between me and my roomate, only was male. Was his, he killed it. I popped 1 haymeadow purp and a mexi red x afghani bean. Both female.

My maui 86 is growing intershoots awefully willingly too lmao.

I have two more haymeadow purps coming behind it, because im expecting the Maui to show female as well.


Ive been trying to get a breedable male plat, and failing, for about 3 months now

I popped 3 tammy beans (commercial grower friend) and she doesnt make fem seeds, im 99% sure these were ones she made, not ones she re-gifted. 3/3 female.

Back in the day i couldnt escape the males, 3/4 of my reg seed was male, always, at best my rates were 50/50 with reg seed. Idk wth happened in the last 10-12 years, but something changed lol. Makes me wonder, if you work multiple feminized, stabilized lineages into a regular seed genepool, if it will affect the male rates over time. it shouldnt, but has me curious now. out of 16 plants i started, only 3 were feminized. I did get 2 mystery sativa males, but i dont know what they were and suspected wild hemp pollen created the seed.

Out of 13 non fem plants this season, i only got 2 males. And they werent one's i was willing to breed with at the time. That male/female rate is insane. Normally id be on cloud 9 about that, but not this season lmao.

Deficiency or sun burn?

I only have one plant out at the patch doing this. But my well pH has been steadily creeping up in the drought so I imagine this could be beginning of manganese deficiency or similar.

This is the worst affected leaf

Who thinks I fix this with soil acidifier? (Which I'll prob end up needing soon anyway) Who thinks it's sunburn? All my other plants are totally fine. And this one does get some mid afternoon sun while the others are shaded. Real temps been about 100, sunny, with 104+ head indexes the last week or so.

A couple other leaves on the plant are starting too. I really need to grab a soil test kit before this becomes a major issue lol

I have an empty tent. Ill spend my day at work thinking about what to pop in there. Making seed would be good.

Im seeing this trend how seed companies are drifting towards only selling feminized seed and I think they want to get rid of home breeding. Now, if that isnt a call to start home breeding I dont know what is.

Got a cousin who lived on a big apple farm in Vermont. We were at his place eating mushrooms years ago and I brought up the mothman while he was standing in front of a window at nighttime, he straight up had a panic attack and ran away from the window and hid behind the couch. He kept yelling at me not to mention the mothman I think he had some sort of psychosomatic reaction to the mention of the mothman and he must’ve materialized outside the window. I remember the hairs on the back of my neck were standing straight up witnessing his reaction. It was “quite a trip”
