Woah, hey could you keep this thread updated on her progress? I'm actually curious how she turns out, that is a wild split there and you did a good job putting her back together.
Same went through my mind. Id love to see updates. Im set back by how well it looks to have gone back together! I cried out nooooooo when i saw that first pic. It made me sad. I didnt expect a happy ending so sering a recovery would be a story of triumph.

topped plant?
no need to top outdoor plants, makes them weak..
you should of expected this to happen, especially being topped,.
wait till buds than what?,. not sure of your location but in southern ontario plants will/are entering stretch phase as the first/second week of august is the start of flower but your plant has a major repair to fix first..
this should of been already taken care of or have a plan ready..
3 basics to have on hand—7-8ft T-post and foam ties and wire garden fence,.

Ive never had a topped outdoor plant split at the stem since i was younger growing back here in tennessee. I always top outdoor plants to keep them short. So far ive never grown outdoors where i didnt have a limit on height. Even here its gonna be about 10-12 foot max. I may be early harvesting some colas this year too.

But i also use inverted tomato cages to support the vertical branches, and use them inverted so the top ring is smallest. And also so i can use the easily bendable, but strong legs to support the large lower branches that come from a topped plant that like to split on ya down the road, especially in flower. Sometimes ill also tie an elestic band from the branchto the main stalk about 8 inches to a foot up the branch as well if its one of the lower ones. I got a few branches out there ive elastic'd this year. And all my big topped plants have inverted (upside down and staked down) tomato cages. And the biggest are about to be side trellised as well.

I definitely would not recommend topping outdoor plants early unless you have a reliable way of supporting the lower stems ready to put into place.

That plant will be fine and survive this no problem, but You need to rig up some sort of support method for that plant's biggest branches or you are going to struggle with this throughout the entirety of flower. Even if you just buy some elastic bands and tie every branch to the main stem, then stake u pthe main stem. That will work decently, but bad storms can still break stuff. It is absolutely critical that you support those branches by the main stem on an early topped outdoor plant. The preflower interior clean up will also need to be a bit more dramatic then otherwise. Side trellising right before flower starts would also be a really good idea for that plant.

My peaceblaster #1 has been topped 3 times, is close to 8 ft tall, and wider then it is tall, and im not worried one bit (knock on wood) about her branches splitting. Even less so once i get the side trellis up on her. But shes also half columbian land race, and that columbian could literally survive a mild midwestern tornado in flower completely unsupported with no branch breaks. So probably bad example 🤣

For future reference 👍

People recommend against tomato cages. I don't. This is how and why I recommend them (specifically useful if you need or want to top plants outdoors)

This plant was topped at its 4th node at like 2 weeks old, then put outside as a small seedling in a chik wire cage and immediately topped 2 more times to let all the undershoots catch up. It's currently approaching 8ft tall and 9ft wide. Never had a plant like this with an inverted cage, but it's hanging on just fine. Even through some crazy hailstorms and wind a few times

For sure will use this trick next year and also will be thinking ahead more never thought she would get that big that fast like I said before I usually learn the hard way but this has really opened my eyes to how much work goes into trying to get really good weed
