Hi, I recently noticed my grow room is kind of smelling mildew/odd. My buds still have the strong weed smell and do not seem to have any signs of bud rot. I have a dehumidifier in the room and humidity usually stays around 40 to 50 sometimes 60-70 but that is only during the very early morning hours. also have a box fan blowing into the tent with a small oscillating fan inside. Just want to make sure this is normal or if they are trying to get bud rot.

Last run I had a 3 day stretch where my whole tent smelled like mildew, I freaked, dehus running 4 fans in the tent, left the door open for hours to air out, after the last day I opened the tent and realized it was a really pungent blueberry smell that almost smelled like mildew same RH as you discribe above is exactly what I had and always do during flower, in fact exactly as I have right now.

Best I can say is keep that air circulation and exchange high no direct fans on the plants I keep a 16” oscillating fan in the ground back corner, tower fan between the plants oscillating back and forth , 6” clip on blowing across the LED’s and 16” fan positioned pointing at the wall in a 45 deg. Angle plus the 6” exhaust, I’d just let them dry back a shade extra beforewatering and monitor for a few days

They look on point visually

I keep my plants dancing though

(That hydrometer is blocked by a leaf that top temp is lung room temp below that shows internal temp and RH)

I have cameras inside and outside the tent lol that’s a 14000 btu AC, then I have a big dehu in the the coner on top of my sump pump so it can constantly drain out, TBH I only run the dehu 4 hours a day for about 4 hours then off for an hour before the lights kick on and I don’t turn it on till the next day same time the AC is set to real feel so it does fan plus AC plus dehu it’ll keep temps around 75f and 60%RH

Thanks a lot for the response, I'll do that and make sure to closely monitor for any signs of mold. It's my first grow so I've been freaking out about every small thing haha and all 12 seeds I planted sprouted and all ended up being female so I've been trying my best to keep them perfect even though I know it's impossible lol

if you are using a waterproof tray liner in your tent, ive had issues where some nutrient rich feed water gets in between that tray and the bottom lining of the tent in one way or another without me realizing it. And well, nutrient rich, dark water in a place with low airflow does stuffs pretty quickly. stinky stuffs.

the few times it happened I would pull the plants out, and hose off the tray then peroxide spray it. Then peroxide spray the inside of the tent and wipe with a rag that had a bleach solution on it afterward. not enough to make the tent smell like bleach all day. just a light solution in the rag.
