Seems like there’s a wildfire season, it sucks when it’s caused by humans, but isn’t it normal for wildfires in the summer out west?

This thread isn’t supposed to be political but here’s my explanation. California has no burn laws and they don’t do controlled burns like they did decades ago. They also built reservoirs but won’t fill them. So the practices result in fires because they don’t clean up the fuel for these fires. The fires 4 years ago polluted the entire globe. California also collected federal tax revenue from every state for their retarded environmental policies which polluted the entire world and we all get to pay for the problems that government produced.

Oh totally! My grandfather retired from the CDF. I was raised in good forest stewardship management practice. When we stopped burning our own forests yearly to maintain it, and letting the natural lighting caused fires burn as you mentioned it went all down hill from there! Well said McFly! Fun fact : ) there are pine type trees that need the heat of forest fire to germinate seeds!

Isn’t white pine flame retardant to a certain degree, not the harvested timber, but the living tree itself?

I think you are correct, the bark on some of the pines is really really thick! So up to moderate fire damage. And of course as long as it stays out off the canopy ( and that’s almost all of Californias problem) under story is way over grown.
