This is going to be from left field! Second or third post on this thread there was mention of “clones”? Just clarifying, NO CLONES ALLOWED? Also ONE BEAN/PLANT? Is anyone apposed to me popping a couple of the same strain? I only have bag seeds😂 if I actually got two or more females you guys could pick the plant that continues on in the contest🤷🏼‍♂️ sorry for the late ideas and ramble.

seed only this comp, we can do a separate clone comp later, id say pop 2 or 3 to make sure one takes.

so my thought is everyone can plant a few seeds, but you have to commit one plant to the comp, maybe well all make an identifying mark on the stalk with a sharpie or something, in all honesty i just hope everyone is honest and doesn't try some swap out shit, but that's why i want twice weekly full plant pics, it'll be fairly easy to spot someone swapping out a plant since we all will see each others plant structure form, most of us could spot that inconsistency. but i we know most of these folks and know we're honest folks and there's nothing to gain by cheating here except to hurt their reputation so i feel it wont be much of an issue, im growin fems so hell mine could herm who knows! part of the game!

yeah well said! oh cheating in this comp would only give you a nickname you wouldn’t want for the rest of your time here on the Farm!😂 and honestly like 98% of the folks signed up dont even need to cheat : ) I know of a couple sand baggers here for sure!!!! (J/King)😂✌️

Just to make sure you were understanding what he was saying, you can plant as many seeds as you want but you have to pick 1 seed right from the start as your competition seed. You can't pick once you know the sex of them, you have to choose right at the beginning. Which kind of sucks for people running regular seeds and not feminized.
No one said a male couldn't win though 🤷‍♂️

That's an interesting question though, do roots do better growing wider but not as deep or deeper and not as wide. Does it have no effect on growth at all because capacity is the same? Sounds like a start to an experiment!

I have only done a few grows as my state just legalized last year. I have only grown autos and I was told by someone that autos will start to flower when their roots hit bottom. So I use tall pots. I did do a solo cup during my second grow that got 40" tall and took almost 6 weeks before it started to flower. So not sure about the roots hitting bottom thing. Apple Fritter auto

I guess I would wonder how the roots would know the difference between the side of the pot and the bottom. If they hit the sides, they will prune/turn and if they hit the bottom, they will prune/turn.

Ok I get it now. Thanks! Hmmmm Im with you on a male COULD win : ) just to sure if I want that floating around my shed : ) it could be a short lived competition for me hahaha!!! I’ll get some female seeds one day!😂✌️

I wonder if we could do 2 seeds for someone running regulars. Pick 1 seed as your starter and if it's female stick with it but if it's a male and the 2nd seed a female, let you finish with that plant. Of course would take pictures of both and label accordingly.
Doesn't take to many weeks from sprout to see male or female preflowers.

Wish I could help, don't think I could get a feminized seed to you buy the 5th 😢

Thats what I was thinking! But you let one monkey out of the cage and that fucker will let all the others out too!!! I get it though : ) im still in and will be until (if) my plant is male ✌️ super exciting and fun!

Come on folks, this isn't about winning it's about sharing how we do this with each other and all those who will read about it. There's no real prizes, this is for FUN!

Ikr I have fem seeds I could use and I know how they grow but I see this as a personal challenge. It will be fun to compare progress with other people but I'm mostly interested in how I can do with the limitations I have. As an artist I love to work with found objects. What you have to work with is what yo have to work with. Taking random elements and transforming them into something aesthetically pleasing is kinda cool. That's how I'm approaching this whole thing.
