My trick was a flower sifter. Use the screen to shred the bud and USUALLY the majority of the seeds stayed in the sifter. Unless the weed was full of the little white seeds. Those usually got smashed into the shake.

I'm from the 80's here and remember nothing but allot of really shitty weed from Mexico. Once in a blue moon we might get some Columbian Gold or Panama; later on, we started getting Sensi that was good, green, sticky, and pretty skunky. I don't know what strains are like that now. Up here, Mass, we have a dispensary playing around with old strains, and they came up with the Nostalgia line. I tried the Maui Wowie and Acapulco Gold. While I never tried the former growing up, I did have the later a number of times. It is actually reminiscent of what I remember. Compared to today, I'm not sure anything sold in dispensaries is much less than about 10% THC, which back in the day would have been considered a head banger!
No sir. It was amazing. Finding bud that good these days is incredibly hard. The old widow, skunk, silver pearl.... the best I ever had was either LA Confidential or OG kush from about 06'- 07' though. Since then bud just hasn't been that dank unless you get extremely lucky. We had mids that were just as good as most bud on the streets now. 90s bud was better than 80s bud. But mid 2000s was the best

Plain white paper on a book… break it up real small… scrape over the weed with my drivers license. The seeds fall out to the bottom on the book. Fold up the paper and tap tap into the bowl. I had a friend who had a gallon bag half full of seed collected this way in 1990 and she’d just keep adding to it. Everyone’s goal was to see how big a seed collection they could get. So many friends with cigar tubes and film canisters full. I didn’t mind the seeds. It was a ritual.
It’s really true. I think all the focus on THC/CBD has really hurt us. There are hundreds of cannabinoids in the plant and I bet those plants in the 80’s/90’s had a much wider profile and much more variety in how they hit. Yeah, some of it was shitty brick weed from Mexico and some not much better than ditch weed but the good stuff would send waves through your body and make you float. I haven’t had waves through my body floating since 2000. But I also never had shit that smelled like popcorn and candy canes or whatever shit people are breeding in now before 2000. It’s so much more plentiful now too though… I remember times in MN and VT where one big bust could dry up supply in a city for a month. I haven’t seen a dry supply in decades.

The first thing we did was open up a few more cans, get some sandwich baggies and fill them with our new found glory!! My buddy kept one of the bags and gave me the other. Even after we filled our baggies there were around 21 cans left. We still had a half can after we filled our baggies so we decided to roll up a bunch of joints with the remaining smoke. My buddy had a little coke and I had some hash oils so we decided that one of the joints would get some "amendments" added to it. We buttered the rolling paper with the hash oil, dropped in the weed and salted it with the coke! COCO PUFFS FTW!!!!
The funniest part(or saddest depending on how you look at it) was that my buddy never sold any of it. He would hand out joints like he just had a baby! He brought new meaning to "High" school!!
