I’ve had less success with small “just split” tap roots vs larger 12 hrs later inch long tap roots.
I haven’t tried that yet! My seed cracked and I almost did this, decided to let it go, got a nice tap root the next day (today) so I dropped it down into the hole and it landed sideways!!!🤦🏼‍♂️ I wasn’t feeling very confident in removing it, i felt like I was going to break it if I tried, so I just covered it up. it popping in the solo I’m confident in! : ) @Newty, the gmoXokie this morning!

Bro I keep shuffling back and forth watching too, I’m maybe 25%!popped .

The r glue sounds awesome, I remember you singing its praises last year I think.
Yeah, I've had these seeds for a minute, now. I just never got around to checkin them out. As I mentioned in another post, I do have one growing right now in a 1 gallon that I started a couple weeks ago. It's got nice broad indica lookin' leaves and vigorous growth with very little nutrients needed to keep her a nice deep, lush green. Overall, pretty impressed with it, in veg anyway..

Just checked again and still no action that I'm seeing. It's all good, I'm sure it will pop, eventually. When I was planting thousands of hemp seeds, every now and then one or two would just take forever to pop, but then a week or two later you can't really tell the difference, anyway. I guess I'll soak another seed real quick just for the sake of the comp. I really hate to "waste" seeds when I could simply clone - but yeah I think I want to stick with this variety for my contestant plant.

On a brighter note - both Nanan Bouclou's, Nepal Jam's, and Apollo's have sprouted. Still no action from the Zamaldelica's and the one RG.

I'm seriously stoked to see how these other seeds turn out. The Nanan Bouclou, Nepal Jam and Zamaldelica I got from Colorado Sativas like 5 or 6 years ago, and never even opened them. I've read some very interesting things about these varieties. Nanan Bouclou allegedly takes up to 17 weeks of flower and is a monster. Will probably have to do some serious training to grow it indoors. But I like a challenge 🤠

Oh also speaking of challenges, I've fallen on hard times financially, and I'm pretty sure my phone gets turned off, tonight. So if I disappear for a while, I'm still here just no internet 😢 As I mentioned before, I will be taking all of my pictures twice a week as per the contest rules, but I'll wait to upload them all once the plant is chopped. So, no real change, just gunna see a little less of old Dead for a while 🤠

p.s. - I'll still be able to check-in every now and then with the Wife'a phone. God knows we can't not pay THAT bill, heads will roll! 🤣

I’m so excited my seed has sprouted out am I supposed to post pics or wait ????
Our first update post in the other thread will be Monday or Tuesday next week, depending on which group you are in.

You can post whatever you want in this thread though so if you're eager to share, you can post some pics here if you would like.

Love it man! 😍
I would of been pretty bummed out if it wouldn't of germinated, I know it hasn't sprouted yet but you're off to an awesome start!

I was always told to plant the seed with the tap root tip facing down no matter which way the seed is because the seed will swing up as the root grows down. Idk if there's any real logic to this, it's how I learned and what has worked everytime for me so that's what I do.

So in your pic, because the tap root is curved, I would of put it in the soil seed shell first with the root coming out of the seed pointing toward the top and then curving back down.

I've had them go sideways before, they seem to always find the correct way to grow lol.

There's a good illustration or two floating around out there demonstrating the proper way to position a seed in soil, but I don't have the time or bandwidth to dig it up right now. But yeah generally you want to plant the seed with the pointed end facing up. The root will come out the top and then curl downwards.

If the root starts to stick out of the soil first, I'll take a small pinch of soil and cover it up again, and give it a little soak with a sprayer, that usually helps it get positioned properly to take root and then emerge from the soil.

Am I too late, or am I too far along? I've got a Royal Haze auto in a 1 gal.
There's a lot of pages I don't wanna read.
Topsoil, bat shit, banana tea.

Also, 3 inches of clay pellets and a water reservoir tray in pot.

Glad I didn't spray with c.s. yet!

Oh man! 🤦‍♂️ I’m keeping my eyes on it! Hopefully it just wants to grow like a normal ole weed seed! 😂🤞

I entered a contest on another site and received my winnings from Pro-Mix today. Pro-Mix is not available to me locally so I've never used it, I've also never grown anything in a 1 gallon pot before so might as well run some soil I have no experience with also lol.

ProMix HP is the shit, yo. Easy and foolproof like soil, but better. I like to describe it as sort of a unique growing medium, like not quite soil, not quite hydro, but somewhere in the middle. The "goldilocks" of growing media, in my opinion.

Pretty simple to use and works great in just about every scenario. Especially if you have well water or hard tap water. It doesn't require RO water like coco.

Thanks for the info, it's not available to me locally so I've never tried it or looked up any information on it.
My fear now is now that I have some, I will like it and have to start ordering it online and paying shipping for it.

I use Fox Farm, never had any issues amd get the big bags for $20, buy 4 get 1 free locally.

After your description, I can't wait to try it!
I'll have to get use to watering it and how it dries and everything, hopefully it does well!

It's very easily re-used, too, so don't throw it away when you're done!

Yeah I don't like Fox Farm anymore. It's not the same as it used to be. They depleted their source of nutrients a long time ago.

When I go that route after placing the seed in the hole, I use a led magnifying glass and a pencil with the lead extended to position the seed , saves digging or going in with tweezers.
