way too much defoliation to my taste ...

leaves do feed the plant, plant get it's carbon from photosynthesis, carbon is 50% of plant dry mass (as carbon is the basic skeleton of most molecule chemicaly).

how do you think plant will get it's carbon if you remove all the leaves ...

I don’t mind at all!
I personally like to prune on day 1 then again on day 21.
I used to not remove so much, but I’m copying how we do it at work these days.
My main reason for stripping is to prevent mold and mildew from over bush and also to get rid of any larf I won’t feel like trimming.

Once all the lowers are removed, all the energy and nutrients go to the top like you’re saying so in theory should be some nice nugs.

100% they will be. As long as one feeds what they need, you in theory don’t need any of those leaves! Great stuff LB!
I 100% Agee. This may be incorrect as I have no science or reasoning, but I feel growing organic It’s best to leave the leaves on, but if you’re pumping salts petal to the metal, strip what you want lol

Not to mention I’m in coco and feed every single day

Thank you @Lockerbox for explaining. Oh i know by seeing the results from growers like yourself it works. I don't grow strickly organic i do use different grow & bloom products. I will follow this grow, I wish you good luck with all growing.

The leaves create sugars via photosynthesis, plants are autotrophs, you are just feeding them vitamins for the most part. Without fans they will just use the trim leaves on the nugs for photosynthesis. They also store reserves in the roots hence why if you don't get the roots of a weed it typically comes back. ✌️

Hahaha yes I know.
The only reason I referenced feed was because I’m in coco, feeding every day, and I’m positive that in one week that plant will be a bush again with plenty of fans with the fast growth rates i see

Like I said I had done it for years when I was younger, we used to think it made the nugs bigger. 🤷‍♂️

LB Pushing the envelope!👍 maybe a quick question from a dumb outdoor grower. Do you think doing that can help you manage the stretch? Hope the boss is growing as fast as your plants!✌️

I’m watching him climb the play ground and go down the slides as we speak 😁
I’m not too sure it’ll help with the stretch though tbh, the stretch is pretty much done already but in the past I would prune at day 14 and they would continue stretching away

Day 27 today, starting to smell great and packing on the frost.

Had to start staking her up yesterday and tying branches together.
