My auto flower is about a month old ,, would this be considered flowering

Flower or pre-flower. If it stays looking just like that for a week or two, don't think they're frozen in time. Sometimes it will stay like that for a little while before you see the buds grow any more.
 
I've read that you want to avoid any shock to them auto's. I would avoid anything you didn't have to do, Unless it was 1 leaf at a time for lower bud development. JMO but I don't know that much.
 
Can I prune autos?
like the others said I would leave it alone for now. I prune mine but only when I can really tell if the light is going to hit the bud better. and they well into flower where you can see some decent buds on it to even tell. I don't go over 3 cuts every two days on a plant. It has never caused a problem.
