Is it normal for roots to be showing? The pots are 250mm x 235mm. And Iโ€™m wondering how much water these auto flower need per day?

what size pot actually ?

soil or coco ?

(and yeah it's normal for the roots to show through pot holes at some point, they might need bigger pots to thrive soon ...)

Soil. The pot says 250mm x 235mm probably 15 - 20L

They look like 1 gallon pots to me. Probably getting close to time to up pot to 3 or 5 gallon preferably fabric. The roots will thank you. Those measurements cypher out to be around 3.5 liter likely a tad more.

A 5 gallon bucket meant for plants is certainly not the same as a 5 gallon bucket for food or water the bucket is way bigger for a tub not intended for your use.

Some growers want little plants, little pots, little cars that go beep, beep, beep ... If you don't know Short People song by Wierd Al you won't get the reference. It just means things will be "small" some times which with a little experience is planned. I can tell you already get this fishmon.

To the OP: Water required to be healthy changes throughout the grow. When plants are stretching they will need more. If it's hotter than usual they need more. How do you tell if they need more or less. You have to watch the plants and use experience which comes with time. If leaves are drooping and stems as well the plant probably wants water. You want to avoid this since it's better the plants are never that stressed. The test for too much water is the plant doesn't dry out. Pick up the pot from time to time. If it doesn't get lighter the plant hasn't used the water yet.

As for putting the plant in a bigger pot if you have space and can buy a bigger pot and some dirt the plant is telling you it's willing.

yeah judging by the plants size they also look much smaller than 15-20L to me

look like the Diameter is nearly the same as height so should be: H 25 cm Diameter 23.5cm

cylinder volume Pi x rยฒ x h = 10 843 cm3 = 11 L and well they if 11L they should be fine, but they looked smaller than that to me too.

Oops forgot to plug in pi. Doh. Sure don't look like 3 gallon pots from here.

Just seen these comments. Thanks for all the info ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Theyโ€™re 9L pots. Iโ€™m gonna get some 20L ones tomorrow and transplant, theyโ€™re in desperate need! Is there any good tips on that procedure? Iโ€™m guessing I just put my hand over the top of the soil and tip it up right and hopefully it all stays held together?

26 days above soil. Should be a nice plant

I tip to 45 degrees more than straight up usually and keep the earth close to where it needs to land in the new pot. When the old pot comes off it's fast to drop into the new one that way. If the pot is binding a bit you may be ripping some roots where they've gone through the holes. Don't worry about it. It needs to be done.

i think i'd wait a little bit more (1 or 2 weeks) before transplant so the root ball will have more roots all around the soil, make transplant easier.

When you have roots coming out the bottom of the pot and you wait a week how does it make transplanting easier?

I don't get it.

when the roots first show at the bottom, they're usually no yet all around the soil., waiting a little after they show near the bottom holes you will have more roots around the soil when unpotting that will help avoiding breaking some part of the soil with lower root density at the time of transplant

I just repotted them ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ donโ€™t think I got big enough pots again lol but I think theyโ€™ll do. Theyโ€™re 14L. The roots held the soil together, it went well I had help with it

you will be fine with 15L, this are auto in 6L pots

3617548 grow journal by orchydis

you will be more comfortable with watering, larger amount less often.

i have seen similar results in even 3L pots it's just more tedious with micromanaging feeding and watering closer to what you would do in hydro

i should have said " a LOT more tedious with ..." even in 6 l the plants get a little rootbound near the end and that's not optimum, need to water a bit too often also, 11 to 15L is a good size for autos i think.

i m running 6L because i crank 8 plants next to each others in SOG in a 2x3 tent, with less plant i would use bigger pots
