I am growing mushrooms for the first time does this all seem correct.

Can anyone tell me if I have the process, correct? also does it have to be 70% I have a lot of 99% alcohol laying around

1 sanitize everything

2. Inject 3 ml into grain bag allow the bag to colonize cool place out of direct sunlight. After u see mycelium grow from port about 3 inches. Break it apart a little bit without opening or tearing the bag. Will significantly increase colonization process. Can take couple weeks or up to one month.

3. Sanitize everything with 70% alcohol cover holes on bottom of tub if not using colonization lid. Cover holes with filters on regular lid if using that.

4. Break apart the grain in the grain bag put half on bottom of the tub

5. Put 5 lb. bag of substrate on top of that.

6. Repeat steps four and five


7 Once fully colonized put in fruiting conditions. (Put one half inch casing of cocoa coir on top. Lightly mist until fully hydrated and put on lid with filters) or take tape off bottom of tub depending on if u have optional colonization lid.

8 spray the tub daily with water and keep the lid of the bin slightly offset and let Bin get small amount of indirect light.

10 Harvest when they ready.

You can also do it in the bag. Inject the bag let colonize for a few weeks until about 20% white. Break up and mix inside the bag the smash into a patty. Let colonize until all white. Cut open top of bag and let oxygen in. The fold over the top and use 3 paper clip to hold bag closed. Few week later you’ll have shroom.

u talking about the grain bag or the substrate bag? would i inject it into the substrate bag instead?

I just ordered some of those off of ebay. different brand. funguy I think they were called. i got those, a monotub, and the stuff to do the PF Tek method now all coming. Going to give it my best shot.
