4X4 is up.
auto seeds are soaking. finally 💪

@Eledin - my lovely free advisor - am I putting one layer of euro pebbles on the bottom or more?
No, it’s not you! I think The one gallons look more like a half a gallon. And so on up the line! The smaller ones look like they hold about a half where they say they do!

my impression exactly. Got to order more. only 6 gal looks more or less ok but small for 6gal non of the less 🤣

Well that's shitty about those pots. I got black 3gal an tan 3gal and i see my tans a tad bit taller than my black. I've not used those gray ones. My black are abit wider than the tan also but not by much. My tans are more like canvas and black are more felt material. I love grilled pinapple LOL

I had my cuttings up potted to 1gal. So when I put them all in their new 3 gallons I was almost laughing at how little dirt I was adding to the up pot🤦‍♂️😂 my next seedling will stay in the solos longer and then just go straight into their 3s. Sorry for the ramble it was just funny your thoughts on the 3 gal! : )

I have never used root pouch brand but it does look a bit smaller than it should be...
Just a layer of euro pebbles should do, a couple or three cm on the bottom 😁 you can put some in the substrate mix aswell for the microorganisms to live there and for the roots to have more oxygen available. Since I buy them for drainage I always throw some in my soil too.

I must say that even the ones I bought from Root Tex seem to be a little bit off but nothing like yours. I used about 70 liters of substrate to fill 4 5 gallon (or 20 liters) pots and considering I didnt pack them until the top and compact the soil I think its close enough. Maybe you can buy them here and return those you bought. Or search for Root Tex pots on google.

you have 7 gal there? for me to see how tall it is? 😘

well to me they are so much things that has much more impact on plant growth than fabric or plastic pot, that i stick to taller than wide rectangular plastic pots, they fill the space better with my SOG set up and i want as much soil in volume per plant as possible for the roots.

also in between grow sometime fabric pots could be more annoying to clean, entangled roots that goes through, nutrient deposit mold fungus and etc ...

This will be my first time with fabric pots
It's very probable that after both grows in fabric and air pots yours truly will go back on knees to full plastic square ones

you never know until you try 🤟

ps: I have replanted some houseplants into those small ones- no waste
If that 3 gal is barely 1.5 it's miracle as I loaded almost nothing of medium in them

For SOG is definetely better to go with square plastic pots because you can fit way more plants yes but for anything but SOG I much prefeer fabric pots. Of course theyre not miraculous, just another thing on a huge list of things that one can improve. I have been reusing textile pots for a long time and never had a mold, fungus or nutrient deposit problem, theyre easily washable. If anything my cat hairs annoy me a bit sometimes when he sneaks in and rubs against one.

The roots come right away with the weight of the whole root system. Some might get stuck on the bottom but you can ignore them or just remove them by hand, its just a few of them. They dont really grow through the fabric, maybe a few very tiny ones on the bottom but definetely never had a root showing on the side of the pot for example.

it's a lot dependant on geotextil quality (and brand) , also some will have their fiber density degrade slightly over long period of time.
