As I enter 5 and a half weeks of flower, I see everything I could have done better. I have done my 3rd clipping today to get more light to the bottoms of the plants and noticed all the little buds that seem to be so far behind that they will be wasted.
1st mistake. 4 plants was WAY too much for this 3x3 tent. The purple and sherbet seem to be giving me the most bud coverage on the overall plant. The watermelon has a nice amount of buds and seems to have branched out a lot. One was skinny and when it lost it's support bent and snapped off. ( I have it drying. get a little taste LOL.) My next grow I am going to do one plant at a time. I think with a better spread will get a hell of a good yield. At least from the purple and sherbet.
This is the sherbet. Look at all those little buds under there.
I learned the hard way that these plants may be hardy but they are not super plants. During my 1st attempt at LST I snapped a side branch on the watermelon. I was so bummed. I did put it in water and after what seemed like forever, I started getting roots. Little white balls, and the leaves were starting to yellow like it was being over watered. I assumed they were roots so I planted it.
I was correct, look at her take off.
I have also learned that you need a steady hand and clear vision when snipping leaves. This was so sad when I had a mis-snip. I think she is starting to get roots, but she is in flower so not sure this is worth rooting and planting. At least with the other one it was still veg and with luck still is. I may just grow her as a houseplant and not worry about bringing her to flower.
I still have a couple of weeks to go but overall I am pleased with my 1st grow. All new for me, tent, lights, nutrients bla bla bla.... all previous grows were seeds from my bag tossed in soil.
I have beautiful bushes and things are getting frosty.

If you look back at other posts, you will see that these are the two that I almost killed. I may try these again.
The Sherbet, not so frosty.
Another thing that was so enjoyable about today's trimming was the smell. The purple is incredible. Fingers got really sticky. It was really hard to wash off.
Watering all four plants is a chore as well. I have been splitting 2 gallons between the 4 plants. They seem to need more so I split 3 gallons between them today. I am almost thinking they may need an entire gallon each. I am running really low on bud candy, I am not sure how that went faster than another I have in the size. I am switching nutrients next grow. Advanced Nutrients seem to be doing a really good job following their chart (for the most part, I have a nutrient for each category in the chart I cannot afford all of their suggested line up). Where I have experience with them, to continue to use them is not very cost effective for me. They are just WAY too expensive to use every grow.
I am very much looking forward to the next couple of weeks. It is hard to get the plants under the lupe and get them steady enough to get a real good look at things but I can see that all are very clear. It will be hard when they start turning milky to see. With all the flowers that I see it looks like it will be a good harvest. I am so curious to see how much these will yield altogether.
