blimey that was a good catch up read for a quiet afternoon at work

I’ve got a question which is probably stupid but what is a perpetual grow? I assumed it meant you are constantly growing, but after reading the above it suddenly dawned on me that if you are growing outside with the seasons, you can’t grow perpetually.

Again probably stupid but I’m an inside auto grower so I know nothing

Yeah, this old dog learned that trick this Spring. I put a Green Crack that was already in flower out in May! ughh...
It was the same day that @Thatoneguyyouknow_ explained it on your thread @cpurola ! Needless to say it had some crazy ass growth for weeks but now has turned the corner and has lots of fat buds.
This was only my 2nd outdoor grow so the learning curve was sharp, last Summer I put one out in mid July so it never dawned on me.

What’s your expected flower time on the Cali blues? Also the black domina I think you said 60?

Yeah bd def right around 8weeks

Cali blues in my house likes that 9week (from preflower) in this house. But I’ve chopped it at 8 give or take a few days, and the difference was noticed. That last bit of time really benefited the pallet post cure, as far as the stone, no difference to report there regarding that circumstance.

Cali dream is awesome @Bilber i think its better genetics than the cali blue IMHO. Mine went batshit crazy after almost being killed by rabbits

I'm not knocking 18/6 to 12/12....I'm running it.....well.....perpetual would be, umm, a little complicated to run anything else......fuck....that got me thinking.....

Have multiple tents, with different times, and swap um every week........

But back to the gradual vs. instant flip....

Both work great....but.....

If you have shitty genetics, the chances of stressing the plant are higher with an instant flip vs. a gradual one......

And truth be told, in my experience, the plants responded Extremely well with the gradual!! Kinda explosive, Explosive growth.....I would still be using the gradual time if not for the perpetual.....minus my lil thinking up there.....

Hey Capt. ....gotta pipe in about the Cali Blue.....nitrogen hungry bitch that is exactly as stated! Round 2 is way better, and 3 is a promising best!!! Cali Dream is just starting out, so that'll be a minute or 2......probably literally.........plus I got bored the other day and dropped some seeds.........

Lol, if you put real small young plants out early enough before preflowers, and they sexually mature in May when days are lengthening at their *most rapid pace*, you'll usually have plants ready to flower as soon as the conditions are appropriate. Little to no lag at all because *they've never been hardened off* to transitional period throughout their lifecycle. I've never once seen reveg doing it that way either, not even on indicas sexing mid May

Usually if you do it that way your outdoor buds are going to harvest looking a lot more like they would indoors too lol. And often a little earlier then otherwise too. Non inbred lineages make it even more rapid. Heavily inbred and odd ball phenos are often exceptions to this though. So are photoperiod plants that have any autoflower lineage in recent generations as well it seems.

I have autoflowering marigolds that work just like autoflower and cannabis too, and I have fall flowering marigolds that work just like photo period Cannabis lol.


True story: Flower plants indoors under transitional periods, and the flower will finish up more or less identical to its outdoor counterparts grown this way, give or take lol

I think I was the last Mofo here to finally get to try the Cali Blues (30 day cure ended last week)
I'm in love! blueberry muffin'ish taste is amazing.
I just wish I had grown her in a 5 or 7 G. I'm burning through this jar at a rapid pace!!
Excellent weed Cap, I've got a clone from her in veg now that's been topped twice and is ready to go BIG this time.

I think Mike said his was 75 days. These ones started pre flowering in like 3 days. They showed sex the first 12 hour night. The last one to pre flower was the sick Nl5 plant.

He would show up an hour early for work and just blow the restroom up for 30-40 minutes. Shit stunk so bad 3-4 hours later at lunch that restroom still smelled to high hell.

Well they all can’t be zingers. If mathing rights and stuff I think I am on week six. Tried to flip July third didn’t set timer up properly. The next day set it properly and didn’t put it to auto. So July 6th was first 12 hour day and they were showing pre flowers within 3 days.

I managed to burn the 5 gallon pots when I got sick. So I managed to burn the nl2- middle finger, Cali blues- left middle with the red/ purple leaves which I haven’t seen on other Cali blues, and my favorite black domina- right middle. Notice how the burnt ones have the biggest colas yet and are in the smaller pots? Had a convo with captain about them. He said it was heat related…I have to open my tent or temperature is above 85. Obviously the damaged leaves aren’t going to recover.
