I know, right?!?!?!
The first photo of there's in the submission thread today, almost looks fake because of how nice the picture and plant looks!

@Zer0Tolerance
Great Job, can't wait to see the next update πŸ‘
Exactly! I thought it had some β€œfilters” at the least! : ) really cool pic! I look forward to all the updates all week long!😍

First time using it and I have to say I'm loving everything about it so far, even though I swear by Fox Farm....the consistency, texture, etc of the Pro-Mix is far superior IMO.

The Pro-Mix HP I'm using, I won in a contest on another site. Now they might have me hooked which means I'll have to pay for it and the shipping πŸ™„

Goodbye to the days of buying Fox Farm local for $20 a bag and buy 4 get 1 free 🀣
It's great stuff I bought 4 pallets of the bales in 2020. Yes pallets 🀣 It will probably last quite a while as I reuse it all the time it never goes bad just add fresh myco and go πŸ‘Š 🀠

All you folks on here talkin about reusing medium… I think you’re on to somethingπŸ˜‚ loopin my belt through my second grow and im already not liking the purchasing of soil! πŸ˜†

I would always just use fresh with Fox Farm but because of the price of Pro-Mix, reusing is definitely something I'm interested in!
Is there a certain brand Myco you like to use and how much do you use for let's say each 5 gallons of soil you're reusing?

$38 for 3.8 cu ft?! Damn that's awesome. Online they're like $60 and $20 shipping.
Hell the 2.8 cu ft are $30 with $20 shipping.

I'm not really interested in trying coco, just seems like higher maintenance compared to other options, might just go with hydro at that point.
I was considering trying a simple DIY DWC though, maybe after the 1 gallon challenge is over.
The 3x2 I purchased for the 1 gallon challenge is going to end up being a tent I try new things and take bigger risks in, pretty much an anything goes tent or should I say "Anything Grows" tent 🀣
Very true! I was looking at bubble buckets to try and tip my hand at hydro and see how I like it, I do like the idea of only needing to do a weekly res change out vs watering every 2 days. Might give it a try even possibly half full bucket with air stones.

Been telling myself I’m gunna do it for over a year now 🀣

The Frostette run did use fox farms 2nd half of flowering

She still got the Gaia green top dress, all my normal organic inputs, but then at week 3.5-4 I started adding in 3ml micro / 8ml bloom, opposite watering was flower fuel full strength, and then before going back to the bloom the 3rd in order was microbe brew or advanced nutrients organics OG tea

Whatever it did, it worked 🀣

I’d like to get away from the FF neuts though if I’m gunna add in the synthetics, i tested this theory with them because I have it all on hand from the past, most of it is over 2 years old but it’s kickin still, I was looking at advanced’s organics line, only issue is pricey to buy on Amazon and nobody local has it

What’s everyone’s preferred neuts?

Biggest thing with fox farms, whatever their suggested range is I cut either in half or 1/3

The micro says 5-10ml/gal I use 3ml
Bloom says 10-15ml/gal I use 8

Not worth over pushing it it’ll only stress em out, also my PH out the tap is 7.3, I don’t check my PH of my input water (just know my base ph as I checked water report) but with what I listed above when I did used to check would average about 6.4ph when mixed, I do keep a mechanical PH meter (the ones with 2 long metal prongs) in my soil at all times it sits at just about 6.7-6.8PH,

There’s a myth peat become more acidic as you run, but it appears in reality the acidifying properties of peat deteriorate weather quickly an d kkow the soil to become stable on its own without adjustment needed besides what was already planned to be watered, i believe its the same reason @GNick55 does the same as me and not check or adjust PH, feed the microbes and they’ll take care of you!

but here’s some results from some different ratios of peat mixed with soil and recording the the acidity of each along a timeline, mind you I run the 100% peat so the bottom blue line,

I believe letting the soil buffer itself is a major component of a healthy grow. When we start throwing crazy shit at em then have to adjust the PH to β€œmake it fit the suggested range” were only hurting them more than helping if I would have followed FF suggested feeding like I used to my PH with that bloom / micro mixture would be in the 5.5 range then I’d be trying to β€œfix” it, imo if it has to be β€œfixed” then it’s not worth using

Just my opinion though so people can take it or Leave it but figured I’d explain my process with the synthetic change up mid flower, in addition to that it also dosent have any salt buildups early in flower that will affect them in late flower, by the time any real salts accumulation happens from the supplemental feeding and bloom boosters the plant is done and chopped

I really like the looks of this RDWC and the Qwik Lok Plumbing but I wish it was a little smaller, at least for the space I'm growing in with a 2nd plant in a different pot/medium.
You can purchase the circulator separately for only $15, I think I'll build a similar setup but in the size I want and use the circulator they sell.

Is there a benefit of recirculating when only using 1 bucket when compared to just doing DWC with air stones?

That’s what I’m not sure of, I’ve seen people grow with just air stones fine but only a single plant at a time. For multiple plants it’s probably better to let them circulate through so the neut levels are even throughout, we’d have to let some hydro folks chime in on that though as I have no experience or knowledge of the methods

Was thinking of testing someone like this but home built

Well I done fuckin did it this time!πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ™„ let the solo dry to much before up pot and the soil broke apart in my hands as I was getting ready to set it down into the bag, then of course I tried to β€œmake things better” and it only fell apart more! I was able to hold support on the plant to hopefully not snap the tap root, but im not sure what how the other roots are doing. It’s my dumbass fault. Now i just hope it survives enough for clones! That was going to be my fire smoke!

I've seen plants go through some rough crap and take it like it was nothing! I think you will be good πŸ‘

Thanks Newty❀️ i was pretty upset after I did it. The roots were looking good! Nothing crazy but the few I could see were awesomely thick and white! Nicest roots I’ve had on a plant so far out of a solo! Im hoping thats the difference in regards to what you’re talking about. I loaded the soil with a bunch of great white also! 🀞

Wouldn't the pH rise as the peat binds with cations also?

You should do a run in build a soil. Top dress it with good worm castings and craftblend. It will be the easiest grow you ever do. Only water throughout the entire grow and no ph needed.

With Fox Farm, I wouldn't need to use nutrients for 4-6 weeks.
Does Pro-Mix HP require a nutrient schedule immediately?
