I think ours has a silicone thing that goes inside of it but I've never used it. I will try it with the tin foil. Thanks for the info! You can buy an insert that will allow you to bake cakes and brownies also. I just folded some tin foil with light cooking spray works fine for a small batch of cookies.
Don't make fun of my mobile grow room just cuz you ain't got one lmao
I’ve seen this before with a friend’s outdoor grow, and it wasn’t anything detrimental to the plantTel me about it! Got that cali blues outside ready for pollen but seeing purple on new growth was worried as it’s pretty common to get boryitis up here but she’s just barely preflowering now, my assumption is this is not any type of fungus or disease but the result of a week of nights hitting 49-48f already and days into the 80-89f range so she’s definitely gettin the temp swing to encourage the the visual change,
I know the she was a deep purple strain when I did my seed / winter run with her so fingers crossed that’s what I’m seeing here
In addition to cold encouraging ourple hues , I have also been doing research on purple strains, when they naturally turn purple during growth it means there is An abundance of anthocyanins in the plant tissue, this is the same compound that makes grapes, blueberries, blackberries etc to get their purple hues, and also is the source of the antioxidants in said fruits,
When smoked it dosent have much of an effect on humans but it’s possible if eaten raw you could gain such benefits (not that any of us would eat raw non-decarbed weed for any reason, just stating the fact it may be possible to get such health benefits if you did) but I’m sure more research would need to be done to see how much the human body could absorb if rated etc based on the concentrations in the plant tissue.
TLDR that long ass rant about purple buds…
Maybe 4 tops out of the whole canopy so far have some purpling in new growth possibly due to major temp swings
Opinions?
Id up her P a bit if getting some purp stems or leaves unexpectedly on a sativa from cold nights. Sativa's, in my experience, are notorious for dropping out phosphorous when it gets cold, they wont uptake it as well, especially when flowering.Tel me about it! Thanks man, humbled.Someday I aspire to be half as good as captain at growing. Always impressed brother![]()
Really the plan is to get her into flower to hit her with caps 89’ Maui pollen and my Frostette and cman x okie pollen, probably need about 4 weeks to get mature seeds correct? Not worried if the plant finishes bud wise just want to get mature seed crosses out of herId up her P a bit if getting some purp stems or leaves unexpectedly on a sativa from cold nights. At the end of flower this causes often highly desirable terp and resin content changes. In early flower it can def lead to some weakened tissues with some extra fungi sensitivity later on in my experience.
My cali blues pheno has very little leaf-born cystolithic trichome coverage, so i would expect it to be quite naturally PM and fungi resistant, so there's that lol.
that really depends. under sunlight the seeds come along quicker. How much quicker depends on the plant. Some plants inside have had viable seed in 3-4 weeks, some take 5-6. My old purp little monster's seeds would never full mature to be viable and she wouldnt make viable pollen when silvered either. Was snow white bunk stuff (which was suuuuuuuuper lame lol)Really the plan is to get her into flower to hit her with caps 89’ Maui pollen and my Frostette and cman x okie pollen, probably need about 4 weeks to get mature seeds correct? Hope it's not what mine got. Of course mine have gotten almost all of the diseases.TLDR that long ass rant about purple buds…

Yeah I’m hoping it just some coloration coming in, I’m not used to outdoor so it’s throwing me off I don’t have these types of questions on my indoor plants lol, she’s self contained in her little greenhouse, no plants around her, just huge temp swings day to night so fingers crossed it’s a positive not a negative, but I’m sure time will tellHope it's not what mine got. I think it might be phytoplasma spread by sucking insects like leaf hoppers. It spread to a couple other plants but isn't as devastating as Septoria or leaf blight.

awesome! Even 5-6 should be ok, if I have to throw a mini heater in the greenhouse and close her up for a week to finish I’d be ok with that too as long as I get some viable seeds I’ll be happy!that really depends. under sunlight the seeds come along quicker. i think you should vent the sides of that little greenhouse. But thats just me. Id expect that setup to create a semi-stagnant air pocket in the bottom half whenever the air inside the enclosure is cooler then the air outside and there isnt ample windYeah I’m hoping it just some coloration coming in, I’m not used to outdoor so it’s throwing me off I don’t have these types of questions on my indoor plants lol, she’s self contained in her little greenhouse, no plants around her, just huge temp swings day to night so fingers crossed it’s a positive not a negative, but I’m sure time will tell

I thought about that actually lol I don’t close the lid even at night, if I’m working midnights it stays propped open like that, (12 hour shifts) if I’m home at night I lower down to about 1 foot open, but I never close it for that reason, I know I could hold more heat from the day if I close it but I’m not there enough at the right times to do it unfortunately. But on the upside she’s never stagnant with air,i think you should vent the sides of that little greenhouse. But thats just me. I've only grown with General Hydroponics nutes. With that being said, I've also never had a reason to switch.Ok what’s everyone’s preferred nutrients (synthetic or organic)
Looking for an affordable line of neuts, imo most of them are the same, besides the price, I’d prefer liquid organics but there’s very few I can find easily, advanced nutrients organics iguana juice grow and bloom but they want $33 per liter of each, I can get the PH perfect line for $55 for the grow / micro / bloom, but wanted to see what everyone has the best experience with value for their dollar wise
PS I have, every bottle of fox farms neuts, literally everything except holy mackerel and benbe roots
I only use the grow micro bloom and cal-mag from the set
Haven’t even been using the cal mag as micro and bloom have adequate cal and mag respectively and I feed both at a time
I’ve only seen it that I can remember on outdoor posts not sure what it is but it is nasty I’m wondering If it’s seen indoors? My gut tells me that it’s a certain microbe in the soil just like sucking up a dark dye? I’m of course I’m stoned chucky Death Star again I put it away for awhile but wifey pulled it outta the closet barroom!!!Hope it's not what mine got. Of course mine have gotten almost all of the diseases.

Hell yeah brother! Gald you’re running them I know you’ll push em to the edge and really see what they got!The first one to get an adjustment
And a 1/2 g pot.
Loving this cement shoes @Mikedin
Yeah same, never seen it indoors but we also run stable temps and RH etcI’ve only seen it that I can remember on outdoor posts not sure what it is but it is nasty I’m wondering If it’s seen indoors?
