You should see Texans when there’s just a “possibility” of ice,

Like Bambi on ice the whole lot,
I just think about driving my stick shift mustang up inclines steering wheel pegged to the driver side in 3rd, car completely sideways, making up the hill like I fucking mean it…..
I don’t miss it. 🤣

Many moons ago I had one of those fire traps called a Pinto Runabout with wide tires.
Stick shift, loved it. Especially when we had freezing rain and I HAD to go to work.
That day was dicey and halfway there I thought about turning around but couldn't find a suitable place without getting stuck.
Took a breath and was okay until I passed a huge salt truck in the ditch, then I got nervous. LOL

Back in the early 70s a friend of mine had a Pinto! We used to jet up to Tahoe in it! At the top of the hill, it was start spitting in sputtering and spewing sparks! We would get out and look under the hood, and the exhaust manifold was glowing, red hot! What a beater! Was overheating once, and the dumb ass got out and took the radiator cap off all the way! That hot water jumped out of there, like a snake and burn the fuck out of his chest! Oh, the good old days!

Went through 3 radiators before I was done. Replaced one in the parking lot next to our apt., one in the parking lot at work and one at the auto shop.
Also, when the seal went bad the oil filled up the bell housing for the clutch. Dad and hubby decided the best thing to do was drill a hole in the housing. By gum it worked, at least enough to get another clutch plate installed and limp home. (if some of that makes no sense, it was very long ago, and far away) LOL

We used to get up to Tahoe from the Bay Area after work when we were like 17! Dumb asses! But I was driving one time and we passed a CHP that had someone pulled over! We both said, he’s busy! Pedal to the metal, pedal to the metal! Well, he pulled us over about 10 miles up the road! Started pulling, empty, half pints and beer bottles out from underneath the seat! Figured our goose was cooked! Asked for my license and saw the money in the wallet! Said, you boys headed for the lake? We said, yeah! Handed my license back, and said, slow down! Didn’t even run it! Once again, the good old days! Maybe we were a little over 18! Grew mustaches and walked into the casino like we owned the place! Took advantage of the free drinks, but there’s no way in hell they would’ve ever paid us off for any kind of a big win! L O L
