He also let me know he could see my big plant over the hedge line while he was coming up the driveway like it was waving at him in the sunlight. It would have fit in the mailbox, my guess is he's seen it before, but now its just getting obvious.

Bout to go do some cola tie downs lmao. He seemed entirely uninterested beyond letting me know he could see it and could easily tell what it was 😅
Your postal service delivers on Sunday?

if you pay for the deliveries to come on sunday, yes. UPS does that too and so does amazon. And here the amazon sunday deliveries, which this was, will come thru usps too

Was a bucket of nutrient powders for plants, so i chose to pay extra for prime sunday delivery lol.

gonna try this stuff with my cacti and succulents. Like the ratio, its cheap. micronutrients added in already. And im suuuuuuuper lazy with those plants so should be perfect. Their spines get long and their skin goes nicely blue in my columnars with a bloom ratio feed. Makes em pretty.

Yepper, the fastest grow method Ive used so far but had some bumps in the road this time around. Im used to putting the rooted clones directly into hydroton but started this batch of seeds in 6" rockwool cubes which holds the moisture way longer. That and new lights, and a new strain Im not familiar with was a lot of guesswork but they're coming along 👍
I’ve been looking at Dutch bucket systems

I thinknorder be a cool setup in a tent basically it’s DWC pump off the bottom connectors and recirc to top 1 pump for the whole system I saw one dude do it with a full garden with like 150 5 gallon buckets hanging off fencing

Bezos fucked The United States Postal Service with his infinitely expanding business, which struggles to keep up with the demand that it creates. They’ve been seven days a week delivery for a couple years now, at least here in the North East. Those fulfillment centers spring up like weeds around any commercial airport. They also buy up an insane number of sprinter vans and walk thru delivery trucks like what fed ex and ups use. Just think a good percentage of the stuff for sale on Amazon is sold through third party vendors, which have to ship to a fulfillment center before it gets reboxed and shipped to the customers by an Amazon delivery driver. Just think about how the definition of Amazon went from largest rainforest, to largest warrior women, to largest mail order business in the world, I guess Amazon is justa synonym for LARGEST.

we dont have a fulfillment center here. So prime is always 2 or 3 days, and the post office delivers them. The post office has been hemorrhaging money since before amazon was a thing though, amazon just made it way worse lmao.

They built one, but then the city of knoxville was like "fuck off amazon get out"

And so now the post office is double fucked in this entire region because we can pretend to hate amazon and stand up against them all we want, we still use it for shear convenience lol. And the only effective way to actually fight a company like this is stop using them all together. Doing anything else to "fight" them for brownie points just makes everyone's life more difficult, and it actually makes amazon's life cheaper and easier in the end. Shutting down the fulfillment center was probably a political move to gain brownie points on a local political election year and nothing more.

they tore down an old mall, then built this fulfilment center. And this city of knoxville waited until it was complete to block amazon access to it, and did it in a way that also permanently bars anyone else from owning this land but amazon. As it sits right now.

Itll open as soon as the local county/city incumbents re-take office, mark my words. Otherwise they would have blocked the development itself. People are just idiots and eat this stuff up like candy when it comes to local politics.

I don’t necessarily hate Amazon, I think they definitely forced changes in the way people spend money, but you can’t fault someone for recognizing an upcoming trend and capitalizing on it. Commerce is going to change, and it’s really up to business owners to change with the times or fall behind. If I owned a business that sold goods through a storefront as well as online, it’d only make sense to also list my goods with Amazon. I’d rather sell more than less ultimately, and you know when someone goes online to shop for something Amazon is usually the first option to pop up.

my mom sells with her antique shop through amazon and ebay both, she makes way more sells through amazon, but she only makes mone through ebay. Amazon stangles private sellers way to much to actually make money. The only reason she sells through amazon is because if she didnt she would have lost 90% of her consumer base 8-10 years ago. Amazon takes pretty much 100% of my moms profits just for her right to sell on the platform at all. They do this with all private businesses across the board. You have to move INSANE bulk on amazon to actually make any money as a seller. amazon makes all the money.

She sells 3x as much as she ever did back then, makes 3x less. Because amazon lmao. The only reason she even still does it at all is because she loves the antiques thing and always has. Amazon is the buggier platform with more issues all around as well, for buyers and sellers both.

Im not personally against the service amazon provides, but i am very against whatever political bull shit has been going on behind the curtains with this fulfillment center for local political brownie points lmao.

That’s kinda stupid. They’re only collecting property taxes on it when it’s sitting there unused. When it’s open it’ll generate more taxable income, provide jobs, use local utilities as well as open world markets to local businesses. As long as they don’t boycott it. I would use the example that less profit for goods sold through Amazon, still generates more sales and revenue than relying solely on walk in customers. I’m surprised they don’t have a ten acre solar panel array powering that plant. Most of the fulfillment centers up here do.

amazon is actually stearing all the private sell platforms from ebay to walmart among others to function exactly like amazon does just to keep up. Ebay has started the strangling process with their sellers recently. Within a few years itll work exactly the same as amazon. Profiteering while stealing directly from their own private sellers.

the local politicians are painting themselves as the shining armor knights for keeping amazon out is whats happening, and the people here are eating that up like tic tacs tbh lol. Worked great. Were coming into local elections too lol.

Sometime mid cycle for the local politicians, theyll quietly open it back up to amazon with zero local news publicity about it most likely. While also taking some pretty pennies from amazon for opening it back up to them

I've been looking at those too, was kicking around the idea of a 2 or 3 bucket setup for my 2x4. The kid in me still enjoys playing with dirt tho 😄

i know every time ive switched to hydro i didnt miss all the dust one bit lmao. When i switched to dwc in KC all of a sudden i was able to keep my house mostly dust free again. Even when i make sure soils and stuff are moist when mixing and all that jazz, theres just dust build up everywhere so much faster when im growing in soils. I go through ac filters a lot faster growing in soils too lmao.

It’s always the greedy ones that control everything, kinda sad. I was really surprised when Amazon tried to get marijauna off of the controlled substances list, basically every single driver they have nationwide is considered a commercial driver, they’re required to pass a DOT physical, to acquire a medical card ( different than a commercial driver license, and way more different than a medical marijauna card 🤣) So they don’t test for drugs to get one of those med cards, more of a test for heart disease or diabetes. Making sure commercial drivers aren’t having heart attacks or slipping into a diabetic coma while driving. They only worry about drug use if a driver is in an accident, then they order drug tests.

Man, we could set up a community grow house. Each have our own little booth like a grow fair.

So that oughta do her.

Took over a foot off the top bending em over lol. She was up at about 13ft tall at the tallest bud lmao. It was more a break in the hedges showing her then her height though

All gravy now lmao

What they do to other sellers is steal the intellectual property rights when you can’t keep up with the demand, let’s just say you can’t get the parts. They own your product and have someone else manufacture it. Bezos is a criminal.
