Good day all!
I'm a newbie and I'm looking for info on tent size.
I have no issues with space or odor as I'm in the brush.
This winter I want to grow in a tent.
I'm only growing for myself and I need advice on a tent size make etc.
My nephew has given me a newer LED to use as he has bought new. It is a High Grow model# GS -1000.

Please let me know!

can't find your light with google ...

what are your light specifications ? (panel dimension, power input, full spectrum led, etc. ?)

depending the light spec, we can recommand a tent size for that light.

Tent (and therefore light) sizes are mostly driven by how much you want to harvest how often. I think a 2x4 is a good size for most growers who just need to cover their own consumption. An intermediate grower should be able to pull half a pound, dried, out of a 2x4 every 18-20 weeks, if they're running photos and using the tent from germination to harvest.

I'm not familiar with your light, but as a general rule of thumb, I want at least 25 watts of LED per square foot of tent floor space. In a 2x4, that would be 200 watts. If you're running hydro or supplementing CO2, it would be good to have more than that. Also, it's good to have the light basically the same shape as the tent...so, a long rectangular light in a 2x4, or a square light in a 3x3 or 4x4.

Hope that helps.

Excellent info. Thank you.

I know you don't want to see this. But that light should be tossed. It's not worthy of a tent. If there is any inkling you really want to grow. At least go get a AC infinity or Spider Farmer Kit. Pay the money and get something useful. They will still be down on light a bit. And thats a easy fix by adding one of the 100 watt lights to the package in a 2 x 4 setup. That way you can get your grow on and focus on the learning curve before you. Good Luck!

with that light2x2. I would recommend a 5x5. With a better light. Acinfinity has really nice stuff. I think the complete tents are a pretty good deal.
Thanks for the info.
I'm going pull the trigger on a tent today.
It looks like they offer a complete setup and thats where I'm headed.
Thanks much!

All good!
I will buy a complete setup and have all new equipment.
I completely understand the issue at hand as I'm a retired industrial contractor and I know the importance of (GOOD EQUIPMENT)....
THANKS for the reply!

Nooooo....
I will get a complete set up from a reputable outfit.
I'm wondering if I will need supplemental cooling...?
That I don't know. I have both my tents in my office, exhausting into my office and my central heat and air system meets my needs. During the summer I set my lights up to not run during the heat of the day and alls fine... I use cheap vaporizers and inkbird controllers for adding humidity. I never have to worry about dehumidification. Enjoy your journey!

I'm looking a getting an complete system here today.
I'm not going to play around a go cheap, meaning piecing things together.
I'm looking at t h e AC INFINITY 5x5 complete package system.
I may need supplemental cooling at a later date we're speeding into fall.
I live in central Floria and it is crushingly humid here.
I have an outdoor grow now in pots and 1 in the ground.

I've almost killed them all several times.

Inside is where I'm headed.

Thanks for the info!

Your most likely going to want a dehumidifier as well.

Yes!!
I'm looking at their site right now.
I'm gonna do the 5x5 as I am stoked to do this. And having more room for clones n such over the coming months and years I will need room.

Thanks!

My take on it is that the light is the most important thing. Yield is a function of light. I don't have any experience with ACI lights. People seem to like them. If a light is the right shape and power for my space, the other things I care about are detachable drivers with long cords (to move the driver out of the tent if heat becomes an issue), and continuous (as opposed to stepped) dimmers. ACI makes fantastic fans. I've been running them for years with good results. I'm less picky about tents. They need good access all around, and enough ports and vents.

I totally agree on the lights.
I have the ability and time to do this right with the correct tools knowledge.
I appreciate the info!
