As the title says, old grower looking to get back into the game after a LONG break.
I have really come to like Gorilla Glue and anything Gorilla related over the years, so I decided I'm gonna get back to it and grow some Gorilla Cookies autos from Fastbuds and see how I get on.

I used to grow photos a long time ago but I really like the idea of these autos and the faster harvests, so I grabbed myself some seeds and got to work.
I plan to grow them organically and put in as little effort as possible with me being old and all that 🤣 So I will use Biobizz light mix soil and Biotabs feed/tabs to make the journey mostly water only and hopefully lighten the workload a little.

I am making this diary to keep myself in check and for future use on other grows to come back and see what I done etc. I also hope it will be of use to any other keen new growers who may be able to get some use from any of the information I post.

I'd be more than happy to hear from you guys n' gals as I go and get your opinions and tips etc, and happy to answer any questions if I can along the way too. I'll also be snooping around everyone else's grows hoping to learn and see some awesome grows from you all.
Happy growing troops!

The main stuff I'm using is:

-6'x6'x6' tent
-Kingbrite p55 1000w full spectrum led light with Samsung lm301h evo, osr 660nm+730nm and uv diodes
-AC Infinity Cloudline Pro S6 extraction fan
-AC Infinity Carbon Filter 6"
-3 gallon pots
-12l dehumidifier
-digital humidifier with hygrometer
-1500w oil radiator
-2x pedestal fan
-Biobizz light mix soil
-Biotabs feed/tabs
-Gorilla Cookies auto seeds from Fastbuds x12

I mixed a lot more perIite into the soil before I started (soil 2:1 perlite ratio) then pre soaked the soil with 2litres into each pot along with 1 gram bactrex and 5ml orgatrex per litre from the biotabs range. I then left them under the light for 48-72 hours to kick start the microbes in the soil while I germinated the seeds.
I'm already over a week in as I'm posting this and things are going smooth so far, 100% successful germination (used the wet paper towel method) and all girls out and looking healthy, maybe one runtish looking lady but not by much.

Been a pretty stable 23-24°C and 60-65% RH so far, easy enough to control with all the gizmos in the tent so no complaints so far thankfully. It's my first time using a led light and I gotta say the difference in heat output compared to hps is amazing, think I'm gonna like this light haha. I guess it will put more heat out as it ramps up in power but so far I'm very impressed with it.
Only had it at 25% power to start off and 12" from the plants on an 18/6 cycle (getting around 250 ppfd at 25% power which was perfect for the seedlings), just turned it up to 30% today and will gradually increase to 40-50% until I get a decent ppfd reading around 400-600 for veg... then leave it there for a bit until preflower then start slowly increasing again to get into the 700-900 for flower but I'll worry about that later and see how the plants respond.

Not sure if I have bitten off more than I can chew doing 12 but time will tell I guess, also no idea if I'm going to lst or top and mainline them yet, decisions decisions...

Anyway I'll stop there for now and add a few pics, then I'll update more soon and add anything in I may have forgot to mention or feel is worth bringing up, thanks for looking and happy growing everyone!

I'ma follow along! Welcome to the farm fam. I really dig your setup and style. I'm very excited to watch your progress.

Any thoughts on training or topping methods?
Thanks AZreefer, much appreciated! Glad to be here and hope to learn a lot watching everyone's different methods etc. Such an exciting hobby to be in these days, so much new stuff and so many new ideas, it is truly amazing!
I did initially plan to lst them and bought the green garden tie stuff and lst clips, but... after watching a timelapse on YouTube from Basementganja topping and mainlining the same strain I'm seriously considering going that route instead. The growth on his plant preflower just exploded it was pretty crazy. He pulled 165g off it in the end, it was impressive.

You can't do that on an auto plant though. They don't have the time to recover from high stress like a 2nd round of topping.

Yeah I used to think the same but It's an auto he done it on amigo, same strain and auto from same breeder, seems a lot of autos can handle it these days as the genetics are getting better.
Not sure if posting links is allowed here but if you type gorilla cookies timelapse into YouTube it's the one posted by basement ganja, well worth a watch it blew me away haha

I'm just staring my first autos. I'm on like week 3 which is why you grow excited me. If you do it you're gunna be my hero!

Word. I wanna see it too. Let's go!

Omfg! Shut my mouth! Let's go! I missed my opportunity to try that this time but I have a few more packs of autos! Oh damn man ty for sharing that.

If you don't try that I will on my next round and post my results, good or bad.

Hell yeah bud, point me towards your grow diary so I can watch it, I've gave your profile a follow too

Haha yeah it's pretty mind blowing, I think I will do it on some of the healthiest ones at the very least, maybe all of them, time will tell lol...

Hey hey! Been a busy few days so haven't had much time to post, but not much to report yet anyway I suppose being early stages. Smooth ride so far though thankfully.
Keeping temps sweet at 23-24 celcius with lights on/off and a steady 60-65% humidity at the moment for early veg and stay in that VPD bracket as best I can. (although I basically ignore vpd charts later on... but in early and late veg I try to keep slightly higher humidity, during main flowering period all bets are off though because I usually have a dehumidifier running full power and forget about VPD as I'm aiming to stay around 40-45% RH by that point in time)
I have the light turned up to 40% power now too and getting an average reading of 350-400 ppfd around most of the area and growth seems good, one girl showing signs of bleaching but only 1 of 12 strangely... Raised the light a couple inches for now anyway along with the power increase and monitor how they respond, I would like to go up another 5-10% power but I'll wait and see how they respond to this for a few days first and go from there.
Had to add in the digital humidifier with hygrometer and set to 65% to maintain my target RH as the pre soak I done to the pots is finally drying out and the RH was around 50%.
According to my written diary I started before this online one, I'm on day 12... so I guess it's officially day 12 haha. Looking good so far even though it's early days, some ladies even looking close to getting topped.
Exciting stuff, I've never topped plants before only ever LST (this is why my girls are planted off-centre, I usually LST to one side lol...)
I'll be following basementganja's video on YouTube for gorilla cookies timelapse, he tops and mainlines them. He trained them pretty well and gets 165g off one plant so I wanna try this method with at least a few of the healthiest girls.
Anyway enough babble from me, posting some pics then offline for the night. (pics taken shortly after lights on so some are a little droopy not woken up yet)
Any questions for me, any tips for me or just want to have some general banter about ganja? feel free to chime in 😉 the more the merrier, happy growing everyone!

Not much to report since my last post, got their first big water last night of 1 litre each.
So close to being able to top some of them 😝
Anyway here's a quick pic of them today and I'll be back in a day or two.
Happy Growing everyone!

Those are looking very healthy. Me and autos haven't been getting along this summer🤣 i want to play with them like a photoperiod and you can't. So i'm not giving any other advise LOL. If you time it wrong they stunt that's my for sure tip LOL

Thanks amigo, I appreciate it.
Sorry to hear you've been having a bad run of it with the autos bud, this is my first time running them too so could go either way haha.
Thanks for the advice, I think I will only top the healthiest ones that reach the right size on/before day 16 to minimise any stress, the rest I'll just lst to keep the canopy even and hope for the best 🤣

Well today is the day, I was brave and topped them @AZreefer 😂 looking a bit droopy but it was just after lights on so to be expected I guess.
Well here's hoping it works out and they respond well, time will tell haha.
Hopefully tomorrow I see plenty of new growth and not too much stress 🤞
Happy Growing everyone!

I'm seeing new growth on every plant today after topping, even the runt has grown a bit surprisingly. Looking good and not much stress it seems, just redirecting the growth and straight back to it 💪 gotta love the resilience of these girls.
Gave them a good water and left them to it.
I'll pop back in to post in a day or two after some more growth.
Happy growing everyone!

Nice one, I wish you the best of luck with them 😁 this is my first time doing autos but I have experience with photos and read a lot on here and watched a lot of YouTube videos so I feel pretty confident... But you never know haha.
I hope my diary helps, I try to make it easy for me so hopefully it is easy for others too.
Vegging for autos is usually around 4 weeks amigo then they explode with growth 😝
Happy Growing!

Let's go amigo! Looking good! I've been watching basement ganja. That dude is the auto master. Thank you for the name drop there. I have ordered a ton of autos seeds so I can keep practicing. I'm definitely going to follow this style on a few grows. Seems autos are fast fast fast! 🤘🏼
