Over the years I've found that all of the organic stuff is good for preventative. Once you have a mite infestation it's time for the big guns. I recommend avid once they have taken hold.

It literally does kill russet mites. Lol.

Look, I'm not trying to give anyone bad advice here, and I'm not trying to argue with anyone or tell anyone their opinion is wrong. That being said, I've used this stuff for years on personal crops and commercial crops of cannabis and industrial hemp for edible and smokeable consumption. Most Neem oil contains a systemic which you're not going to get rid of with any measure, this is just basically soy, corn and sunflower oils. Oreos have more dangerous ingredients. As far as leaving residue on buds? Nothing you will be able to discern from an untreated bud. I've used this stuff literally the day before chop to kill aphids before bringing buds in to dry. No issues what-so-ever. No smells, no taste, no "film" or visible residue, period. It has the slight smell of a deep fryer when you first spray it, but that quickly goes away after it dries.

Personally I would rather use something simple and organic that I know works, over some chemicals or even organic, systemics that could definitely cause problems.

But hey, don't listen to me, I've only been growing cannabis for 25 years, use Eagle 20, that's the shit 👊 🤣 🤣 🤣
There’s 1000 ways to skin this cat all day long👊🏻🤡

That's not a true ladybug! Three spots on each side I thought with one above it's head..lol aren't they always red too? Maybe I'm mistaken...I'll Google it...I thought the 7 spotted was the true ladybug

Edit apparently they can have 9 or 12 total...Sounds like the Chinese have done it again!!

There is also another trick I learned but I don't like to share because it causes emotions to run high. Hot shot strips work amazing. You make sure room is sealed and hang one in middle of room or tent give it about 24hrs they will all be dead. Poison will obviously be in the air hence the sealed room but won't saturate your buds.
Also please don't use a mild detergent when doing a bud wash. Peroxide or lemon juice and baking soda will break down most oily substances on the buds.

Thanks good buddy! So does a detergent or surfactant harm the trichomes or flower flavor?

My first rodeo with mites (discovered yesterday & found a web this morning). I can’t be sure of which kind of mite, but I’m sure I brought them in after working outdoors.

Sorry for the shaky video but you’ll see one crawling over the edge of the leaf—pausing it may give you a decent image.

I’m 1/2 way through flower and plan to prune affected leaves, then remove the plants to outside this evening where I’ll spray them (from top and bottom) with a water hose. Then I’ll clean the tent with 70% isopropyl, then back into the tent for the night when the plants are finished with their drip dry.

Meanwhile I’ve lowered my AC temp to low 70s and raised my humidity into the mid 60s in order to make the mites less frisky with each other.

I’d like to treat my 3 plants with Spinosad asap but I’m unsure if it will be safe to use on flowers. Any residual taste or smell on smoked indoor plants? If so, is there a good alternative treatment? I’ve used 50% alcohol on plants before, don’t want to do it again, and I’m not convinced that H2O2 is worthwhile on mites.

I’m hoping to hear from *experienced* indoor mite murderers! TIA
spider mite eggs can't be on the bottom of your shoes from walking in your grass good room is a clean room

Next 3 ingredients are water, sunflower oil and coconut oil, meaning high percentage of those oils too. If I was younger, I probably wouldn't care, because I had 9 lives then. I've cashed all those in and then some. Need my lungs. It's not marketed for cannabis either. Seems more flower and veggie, neither of which we smoke.

I'm not telling you not to obviously. Those are the reasons I haven't purchased it for my plants though. They are already in flower. Something about oil on my flowers I'm going to smoke doesn't sit right with me. It is not water soluble. There is no washing it off.
stop lol no offense stick to 1 thing keep it simple

Yes it will effect flavor of flower. Stick with organic bud wash either h2o2 or lemon and baking soda or both of course rinse lots of ways online to wash buds. Also make sure water is tepid not cold. Cold water will knock your trics off.

Yeah, I’ll most likely do it that way. And thanks for the tip on water temp.

I’ve just never seen a science-y explanation of why lemon juice (contains oils, btw) and baking soda in water is the rule for washing buds.

I have to wash, though. That organic GrowSafe is maybe 98% effective with clearing mites, but it has left a residual aroma of food oils that I’m hoping will wash out.

They got sprayed at dusk yesterday, and they’re looking PFG!

Lemon juice and baking soda has been used as an organic wash for years. Works on fruits, vegetables, buds lots of stuff. The soda and lemon juice create a reaction that bubbles that helps break down any oils, soaps, sprays, bug and bird poo all that nasty. If there is a product that is bud safe go for it if you are confident it won't damage buds. Lemon juice and baking soda is a tried and true way that growers and hippies have been using for years to clean their flower. Use what works for you.

Thanks 420. Yep, I’m familiar with the reaction, I just don’t understand it. I’ll use it as a default, but I’m still looking.
