After 6 long months, my Auto tent is open for business!

Without further ado, Welcome to my Fast Buds Blackberry Auto Diary Featuring the Spider Farmer SE4500 😁

Tent I'm using is Spider Farmers Pro Grade 4x2, it's actually an oversized 4x2 and measures 55"x28"x80".
It doesn't sound like much more but those few inches make all the difference! Absolutely love the extra space vs a standard 4x2!

Lighting I'm using is the Spider Farmer SE4500 😍
The SE4500 is what I used for my first grow in this tent, never had to go over 70% power and it helped bring a harvest of 553.47 grams (19.77 ounces) from 3 Rainbow Belts x Okie plants so I have full confidence that it will produce for this Auto grow!
I'm also using Spider Farmers UV, IR, and Deep Red Supplement Bars. I can't comment on if it helped my yields as I've not grown under the SE4500 without them so nothing to compare it to.
I did not add them until my RB x Okie were in flower, there's not a ton of information on using these different kinds of supplement lighting and I would like to find out if they have any benefits in using them during the vegetative stage.

Saturday 09/14
Dropped 3 seeds in a shot glass of bottled spring water.
I placed the shot glass on a ACI Suncore H3 heat mat and set at 88 degrees to help warm the water.
I covered the shot glass with a dome tray and propped 1 side up with a wireless thermometer/hygrometer sensor to help raise the air temp.

Sunday 09/15
After 13 hours of soaking, place the 3 seeds in wet paper towels and placed on heat mat and covered with dome. Lowered heat mat temp to 85 degrees.

Monday 09/16
(Morning) 12 hours after placing seeds in paper towels, seeds cracked and showing tap root.
(Evening) 9.5 hours since tap root observed, now is proper size for planting (forgot to take tap root pic before planting 🤦‍♂️).
Planted each seed in a 3 gallon pot with Pro-Mix HP-M.
Sprayed soil and covered planting area with solo cup.

Tried to use mind powers and make plants sprout, no luck yet

Sounds like an exciting setup! Congrats on getting your Auto tent open for business! The Spider Farmer SE4500 has clearly delivered impressive results for you, and I’m sure it will do the same for your Auto grow. That oversized tent definitely gives you more flexibility! It’ll be interesting to see how the UV, IR, and Deep Red bars affect your plants, especially if you start using them in the vegetative stage. Looking forward to seeing the results!

40 hours after planting, all 3 have broke ground. 1 has seed shell and stuck membrane.
The one that is open the most was the seed with the longest tap root when I planted them, it's the middle plant in the tent.
Removed cups/domes from 2 of the sprouts, left a cup/dome over the sprout with stuck membrane and seed to help keep moist.

SE4500 dimmed to 40% at 50" over sprouts.
I usually leave the light on for 24 hours for 1-3 days after they break ground and then start a night period.

Imma gonna watch this grow Newty that's a heck of a light you got. If that shell don't come off today drip a couple drops of water on it it usually helps the colyondons push it off.
Thanks!
The first Auto I tried to grow, I overfed and locked it out. Still made it to harvest, it's actually drying now.
I learned a bit from that grow but I'm sure I'll need some guidance at some point with these 3 Autos.

I put a couple drops on it last night and covered it with a cup/dome.
I checked it this morning and it was open more but shell and membrane still attached.
I sprayed it again and covered it, I'll check again later.

I'm sure the shell will fall soon.
As for the membrane, I'm pretty good at getting them off with a drop of water and fine point tweezers.
I just want to give it a chance to separate on it's own, I know Autos are more stress prone so don't want to handle it if I don't need to.

Hate that!😕 I spritz it every few hours for the first 24, then if it can't get it off I start thinking about the 'surgical' approach🔪 looks like it wants to come off though

Cam home from work and the shell was off, some membrane still hanging on though. I'll give it till tomorrow, then I'll try to gently slide it off.
The 1 with the stuck membrane is actually the tallest so far and the stem is also the thickest.

Membrane was still on the 1 sprout this morning. I put a drop of water on it and let it sit for a minute and carefully slid it off.

Only see the cotyledons on this 1, no sign of leaves yet. The other 2 had cotyledons and little leaves as soon as they came out of the ground.

Hope it comes out of it fine i've seen just the coly on mine a few times just kinda slow starter. You got this Newty and i sure like seeing alot of perilite mixed in your medium, sure helps kickstart the roots i think.
I actually forgot to mention that I added extra perlite to the Pro-Mix. I really wasn't sure how much to mix, I ended up doing 1 cup for every 6 cups of soil because the Pro-Mix already had some in it.
Seems like it was enough 🤷‍♂️

Last night I used a jewelers loupe and looked at the plant with only cotyledons, I seen a little membrane in the middle of the cotyledons where the leaves should be growing.
I put a drop of water on it and used fine tipped tweezers and pulled it off.
I'm now seeing something growing from between the cotyledons.
Interesting that the cotyledons are much larger then the other 2 plants.
I just hope the plant makes it.

I've been running 24 hours of light, I'm going to give them 4 hours of dark tonight and see if that helps in any way.

It looks like a few sets of leaves are going to end up mutated.
I'm just happy it's growing, even though it's pretty slow.

The 2 other plants are growing good but are looking light colored and starting to yellow.
I went ahead and fed them some nutrients.
I also fed the plant with the leaf issue because the cotyledons were starting to yellow, maybe it will be the boost the plant needs.

Nutrient strength used,
CALiMAGic - 5 ml/gal
FloraMicro - 1.25 ml/gal
FloraGro - 1.25 ml/gal
FloraBloom - 1.25 ml/gal

Will start adding Silica once they have a few sets of leaves.

My best blackberry auto went from seed to harvest in 67 days, yielding just over 2oz. The others in that run went a little longer and didn't yield as well but still about 1 1/2. Looks like you'll be set with some good product in time for christmas!

Day 10 from sprout

SE4500 is treating the plants well, hanging at 36" with 40% power.

1 of the "normal" plants is stretched slightly more then the other with slightly longer node spacing. I'm curious to see if it continues this way.

The plant with the leaf issues is coming along slowly. Leaves should be normal in a set or 2.
I'm hoping it starts taking off anytime now, clock is ticking because it's an auto.

I think she will be just fine!
Other then the slow growth, there's no indication that she isn't as healthy as she could be right now.

I know she is strong, with how stress prone Autos are and the issue right from sprout, she could of just as easily died but she pushed through it!
