So I'm trying to decide what to do with this plant. I'm on week 9 of flower and I'm not seeing any of the flowers actually open. They all look like little balls still. Its an ak47 autoflower. She ended up flower pretty early but I just let it run to see what I could get out of it. At this point though I'm just unsure if the buds will ever fully develop. I'm just seeing new bud growths appear every now and again. It's under a 100w led switched to a 12-12 light cycle to try and encourage flower and I've been giving it heavy feedings based on the nutrients bottle guidelines (not overduing it just using the recommended dose for a heavy feeding). I'm almost ready to call it and try starting over, but I'd feel like it was a bit of a waste of time despite everything I've learned. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like grinspoon, displaying a trait potentially found in sativas. They wont be opening or filling in but each calyx may swell more. I think youve got some time left, like weeks potentially. Checking the trichs would really tell us if you happen to have a loupe or such?

Damn! I’m curious too; I’ve heard the name but didn’t realize it looked so wild

Me too lol, its really hard to tell in the photos, beyond the in focus calyxs there could easily be male expressions littered in the background

I have had a pheno exactly like that before, it was an SLH pheno. I treated her the same as my other 5 phenos in coco who put on MAD weight, but she wouldn't produce. I was running 6 SLHs, and I should have chopped her down and given the other 5 phenos more space because she produced almost nothing.

Mine looked freaky and weird like yours, there were no pollen sacks or nanners on mine but give yours a good look to see if you can find any but at this stage it doesn't really matter. I'm flipping out seeing this pheno again, that's a trip, I was wondering when I would lay eyes on it again. I have even mentioned it a few times on this site haha. That's interesting to hear it happens to some sativa strains, you learn something new every day, glad I know what it was now I have always been curious.

Genetics just be like that sometimes friend, it wasn't anything you did unless you fed it nuclear waste or something 😛 . If I were you I would start another run. I personally don't think there is anything you could have done to make that plant produce weight.

that seems like its all pregnant with seeds

Could be, but I would be surprised if OP didn't see any seeds popping out of the calyxs when hes at week 9 already, but he should check anyway. A previous user suggested it could be the trait "grinspoon", and I think its that as well. Here are some more images that look just like OPs.

Shit OP you lucked out! Like sorry you didn’t get the AK auto you bought but you got a pretty cool plant.

Kinda like wanting a blunt and getting a shot of whisky instead. but cooler.

Looks like you have a light leaking during their nighttime.pin holes of light in your tent.make them stretch weird like that and make Finnish time take a lot longer.dont know why as nature there is a moon(light) but it happens indoors

Do you happen to take pictures when you started growing this plant?

Would love to see a bunch of pics from youngest to oldest to see how the plant grew to be what it is!

Sorry this happened! May I ask where are all the leaves?

How does it smell? I came across one of these pheno long time ago, it smelled fantastic and had a great high..

Oh man, that's a classic case of a hermaphrodite plant right there! What you’re seeing are both male and female characteristics on the same plant. It’s producing pollen sacs (those round, ball-like structures) and pistils (the white hairs). This happens when a plant is stressed, maybe from things like:

  • Light leaks during the dark cycle in flowering
  • Heat stress
  • Genetic factors
Once a cannabis plant starts growing male flowers alongside female buds, it can pollinate itself and nearby female plants, leading to seedy buds—not ideal if you’re lookin’ for quality, ya know?

What to do, man:

  • Remove it from your grow room ASAP, unless you're trying to breed or make seeds, because it can pollinate your other plants.
  • If it's early in flowering, you might still be able to catch it before too much damage is done.
So, yeah, that plant's a hermie for sure.
