So this is my 3rd attempt at canna butter..... This one seems to have turned out different.

So, first off... i think I messed up the decarb process.... I baked under temp. 1st mistake. The temp was around 131 degrees F. I was trying for 104-113 and thinking I was too warm.... re-read the directions and saw it was C not F. Not so worried about that as I am the amount I lost in the cooking process.

I started with 2 sticks of butter (250g) and 16 grams bud ground with a grinder.
I cooked on low in a crock pot. I went 12 hours instead of the 8 as directed in the recipe. I have gone up to 16hrs before.

Since I started with 250 grams of butter and ended up with 141 grams once cooked and strained. I know I lost a little in the material that I strained out. I did squeeze out as much as I could. The question is.... does this become more concentrated with the evaporation loss? It seems I lost an entire stick of butter. The recipe calls for 2 sticks of butter.... I have one. I am short an entire stick and not sure if I should just add a stick or make another batch of canna butter.

If it concentrates, like tea... the longer you steep it the stronger it gets, then I think I will be ok... if not then I need to make another batch. I hate to have to use another 1/2 oz of material for 1 more stick of butter. UG!

Thoughts?? 🤔

Thanks 👍

I have learned about decarb about 2 years ago. Before then I just put my material in a jar with an airtight lid and put that in boiling water for 2 hours. Then I added butter and put it back in the water for another hour, mixed it to mush and strained that off.

I dont mean this is an optimal process. But it worked.
