My Florida but is puckered !Stay safe everybody, thinking of you all, get somewhere safe.
Seeing how serious the effected users here were taking this event gives me some confidence. Praying for you guys and girls.
Sounds like Hurricaine Bertha? My boyfriend was graduating army bootcamp my mom let me go because they thought it was gonna hit Jacksonville and it followed me to South Carolina. The army shipped him out to Augusta that day.Don’t remember the name of the storm. It was big and bad, Va Beach around 96
My neighbor left his trampoline unsecured and it slammed into my living room window with 100 mph wind and rain at about 2 AM
Man , I really didn’t like that guy .![]()
Could’ve been. Im getting old , memory not so goodSounds like Hurricaine Bertha?
Do what did he say dont eat edibles ?Ok, this might’ve won the internet
He was on the local news here, when Helene passed by. They were trying to get him to leave . A guy offered to help him try to buy him a new boat just to get him to leave . Since it's his everyday home .I’ve seed a few vids of this guy. He goes by Lt. Dan, dudes got one leg. Appears to live on a small boat. Refuses to leave the path of the storm. Hope does okay.

What’s your take on the unmarked helicopter that washed the volunteers supplies away? Who gets away with flying an unmarked aircraft other than the government ?I get the sentiment and don’t disagree.
But please take it from me, someone who was in one of the absolute hardest hit areas, whole town wiped out..the FEMA stories are 99% a political weapon that is built on total bullshit and lies.
They were here right away doing literally hundreds of helicopter landings daily. Supplies became in massive abundance overnight, save for gasoline. I know one elderly lady whose insurance offered her zero dollars for her flooded first story. FEMA came to her house within 4 days, on site mind you, and she will have tens of thousands of dollars in her bank account by next week, 100% from FEMA.
I have endless criticisms (fucking endless..) of our government and I definitely am not a cheerleader for FEMA. But I and countless others who are here and lost most of our income, some their houses and many their business are taking the time to let the rest of the country know that the ultra negative FEMA stories “as it relates to the hardest hit areas from Helene in WNC” are absolute, 99% propaganda that are being used for no other reason than to help Trump get elected.
And trust me I’m not coming from any democrat partisan hack angle. I have never and will never vote for a democrat or a republican. And no disrespect for those that do. I just want to be clear that I’m not playing politics by my reporting from one of Helen’s ground zeros. I can’t speak for Tennessee or any other state.

They had military head gear. It looked intentional to me.Fucked up! But if they were attempting to halt supplies getting to the area, they certainly failed overall. One of my best friends lives there. I’ll ask him what the local word on the ground is about that.
