Hi, this is my first grow.
My auto flower cheese is on week 6- I have both bloom and veg switched on as read that's ok. Most of the fan leaves are turning yellow but only half. (Don't know if you can tell from photo) im not sure if this is natural process or nutrients or bad lighting? I have lifted the light as high as it can go in tent and leaves on the top bud have burnt ends, I pulled them off. I'm not sure if it's ok. Also watering I have noticed the soil drys quickly so have started feeding every couple of days? Or should I be feeding daily to bulk out the buds?
How much bigger will the buds get? And is there a sign I should be flushing ? Or do I just start week 8 ?

If it's more pronounced at the top, which it appears to be from these pics, it may be light intensity.

DeBacco University has a few good videos on YouTube to help diagnose nute issues, I'd start there if light adjustment doesn't help.

Bumping to hopefully get someone with more knowledge to see this.

I feel like at this stage if the light was the issue, we would see burnt pistils on the buds but I can't say that for sure.

What medium are you growing in?

What nutes are you feeding and at what dose?

haha no.
why do people think 🧐 plants fade??
especially indoors??
not true,.
it’s incorrect feeding
I think it's because people follow the manufacturer feed charts and they show a flush for a few weeks so the plant starts showing deficiencies and start dying and they think it's "fade".
I personally feed till the end, still green when I chop.

Hi Newty.

I am using soil and Biobizz nutrients.
Soil PH is between 6-7
Water/Nutrients PH is always around 6.

I have been following a feeding chart I found online.
My feed is:
1ml/L of bio-grow (was using fish-mix before swapping to biogrow a couple of weeks ago)
3ml/L of Bio-bloom
1ml/L of Top Max

I saw online another feeding schedual that says I should be using:

3ml/L of bio-grow
3ml/L of Bio-bloom
1ml/L of Top Max

Should I up the dosage?

Should I avoid flushing then?
I read that it gives the bud a harsh taste to smoke?

#My reply with all the nutrients info is hopefully coming, says it needs to be approved by a moderator first?

Hi Fnipernackle.

There are some yellow leaves at the bottom too. So probably nutrients as others have mentioned.
Although I am worried about lighting issues. I have had a lot of burnt tips and leaves at the top, which I removed. The pistons are not burnt tho.

I'm not sure if I change my light settings. Or keep it as it with both bloom and veg on. I read the plant likes both and produces better ??

I have other plants in the tent that are not auto flower. They are at week 6 and 4 in veg state, they are not having the same issues and on the same feeding cycle. Although they are still on fishmix and not biogrow.

This is my first go and just going by all the research I can find online. I will look for those YouTube videos you recommended.

Don't flush. You should be attempting to keep your plants well-fed up until the very end. You will want to cut back on how much nitrogen you're feeding, unless it shows nitrogen deficiency. Cannabis needs less as it matures.

Yeah, this is kind of tough to diagnose without seeing it first hand. I can't speak for the lighting. Definitely look into the videos I mentioned. There are also a number of written guides online, some better than others when it comes to actually showing you examples of symptoms.

What about calmag?

Someone actually did a study on flushing and bud with zero days of flushing had a better taste, smoothest smoke, and highest quailty extraction.

Thank you, I think that's what's missing. The images of calmag deficiencies match. I didn't know to add it tbh😬🤐

It is ok to add it at such a late stage? I will buy the Biobizz calmag. will it just mix with the other nutrients ok?

I will look thank you for the advice. Do you have any recommendations for good guides? There are so many! 😱

I will follow yours and @Newty advice and try not flushing this time.

I'm going to increase the dosage and follow this chart I found. The one I was using before had smaller dosage of biogrow. So less nitrogen. Plus I will add calmag to the mix and see how the plant gets on.

I'm worried the damage is already done at this stage as the yellowing is widespread but atleast I know for next time and will do more research on nutrients.

It's not to late to add CalMag, most CalMag will be dosed at 5 ml/gal.

From the pics in your thread, I still see plenty of green.

These plants can be pretty resilient, plenty of times on this forum I've seen deficiencies and toxicity members deal with for weeks and they fix the issue and they bounce back and have a successful harvest.

@Newty @Fnipernackle

Hello again.

Just an update. I managed to slow the yellowing with calmag but I think it was too late by the time I added it. At least I know for next time.

My question now is, would you say this is ready for harvesting?

I read a good way to tell us
When most of the pistils begin to change color, they will indicate when the plant is ready.:

50 - 70% color: Too young to harvest.
70 - 90% color: Ideal time to harvest.
90 - 100% color: The plant may be overripe by this point, so it's crucial to harvest at this stage

Mind has definitely reached the 70-90% closer to 100 each day that passes.

Shall I harvest now ?
