Hey, I’m a new user and want to firstly thank you for allowing me to be a part of this kind, resourceful, growing community. Secondly, I just want everyone to know that I have almost zero idea of what I’m doing. I got a bag of weed and it had some seeds in it (I believe it was “T-1000”), I threw one of the seeds into a small pot I made and the thing took off in literally no time at all.
It’sbeen about a month and a half since I threw the seed, and I topped the main stem just over a week ago. I read somewhere on this forum that if you top it and done correctly, the plant can have a much higher yield because the plant will then grow two main stems from the original. I also read that new growth out of the original top site would not occur but it seems that the two new stems are growing as is the original. Am I mistaken by chance?
Thank you so much for reading and responding if you care to. I don’t know if it’s normal or proper but I named my plant, Beauty. Lol

Hey there.

Can you take better pictures so we can get a better look at the new growth coming out of the top?

It’s right in the middle of the frame in the second picture. My phone won’t focus any better than those unfortunately. But underneath the new little, “nipple” is a flat horizontal cut I made that it is growing out of.

I see it now. It is unusual, but not unheard of. That is pretty cool though! You didn't do anything wrong, that doesn't usually happen when you top.

Dang, your plant looks so big compared to mine lol, how old is the one in your picture?

I'm wondering if when you made your cut, instead of it being clean that it actually "pinch" cut it and partially fimmed it.

I used sterilized botany scissors because my fingers were too big to grab it reliably. I haven’t really touched the plant itself at all, other than to the top. I don’t want to kill it.my great grandmother told me like two decades ago that some people are born with a green thumb and others aren’t; she said I don’t have one, so I was surprised when it started growing and now I just don’t want it to die. It really is a beautiful plant

Oh I originally misunderstood but reread and think I understand what you mean now. Like the scissors may have pinched it off instead of making a clean through cut.

Transplanted, Beauty today. I hope I didn’t stress her out too much! Need to keep an eye on her over the next couple, days/weeks.

Quick question, is is safe for the plant to mix epsom salt into the soil before watering? Someone at work told me it’s amazing for the plants auto immune system. I didn’t even know it had that.

I previously topped my plant and it had no problems taking off growing again; I just topped Beauty, a second time. Here are some pics <3
