Hi all,

I know this has been discussed many times here, but I’m still unsure whether those are pollen sacks or undeveloped calixes. She’s on her second week since light flip.

Any thoughts? That’s my first grow, only plant out of three to have made it this far. The grow has been very long and quite a struggle so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a bit of stress due to high temps and humidity swings.

I’m also blaming a bit the genetics that didn’t seem quite strong too to be honest, but since it’s my first, I have not much to compare them with.

Very much appreciate everybody’s help on this forum. Good grow to all!

Thanks a lot guys for your very quick answer.

There’s a lot of them and hopefully removed all. Will keep a close eye on her and see how it goes. Will be posting updates.

I got the seeds from a local grower. I’ll try another one for the next grow and see who is to be blamed!

For you to have an idea, that’s what the plant looked like three months ago:

the only thing to blame if you need to is you,.
that seedling was waaay stressed, that can hermie your plant,. did you switch from 18/6-12/12? if so that can hermie your plant,,
overfeeding/underfeedin can hermie a plant and more stresses as well can hermie a plant,..
yes all this breeding isn’t doing anyone any good,..

The first weeks of the plant were quite badly handled alright. pH issues and too long in inert soil without any food/nutes. There also was big temps variations. I’m of course taking the blame and was only joking!

Though it got better from this point and never showed any sign of stress afterwards, like over or under feeding, deficiencies or anything.

I did switch from 8/16 to 12/12, is it not recommended? Should it be gradual?

So she is at week 3 and getting frosty!

She is the only plant I have left in the tent so I am going to keep it till harvest and see what I can get from it. I have removed all the sacs I could find and it seems like none has grown back so far, or as find as I can tell.

I’ll post some updates here for the newbies like me in a similar situation!

A fine week to you all.

Right so being my only (and first) plant, I decided to keep it and see. Here are some updates:

I am now on week seven since flipping. I plucked the male bits seen at start of flowering. I don’t think any reappeared after. I looked her very closely for the first couple of weeks, found some other pollen sacks remaining and plucked them off as I found them.

Since then, flowers have grown and nothing male showed again. I think I am fairly close to harvest and cannot see any seed yet.

Buds are dense as hell and really anxious to see the final result.

Will post a final update later to see if it was indeed worth insisting on her!

Thanks all for the feedbacks and very valuable insights.

There maybe seeds anyway in the buds let us know please i'm curious cause i would of got rid of it.

I saw it mentioned last week (on youtube) that flipping to early (with feminized) can cause hermies. I'm curious if these got pollinated too! Let them fill out some more..

I just think it's funny when a female plant becomes trans, it announces itself in the most masculine way it can by "throwing footballs."

They haven’t created the Pot plant that an indoor grower can’t Herm! Never seen one outdoors! Maybe just get pushed too hard!

Quick update for those interested: week 8 since flipping, probably will chopp her this weekend.

Leaves are yellowing and I noticed a probable phosphorus deficiency, leaves getting purple. Though it seems to start from the outside in rather than the other way around.

I will not feed her anything and keep on feeding her with water. Started to flush last week and the run offs read 500ppm.

I switched the light directly many times without any problems. A few years ago, however, I started doing it gradually. I tried different rates of reduction and decided reducing by two hours every three days worked well (for my growing style). I do it by changing both the start and end times by an hour. It's easier than some of the more complicated schedules I tried. How well the plant handles the stress from the light change depends on the basic health of the plant. Healthy plants can handle more stress. Some stress isn't necessarily bad, though, because it can stimulate the plant to produce better flowers. A botanist friend told me that poor conditions can cause the plants to work harder to reproduce, including becoming a hermaphrodite. Something else I noticed was that a gradual light change seemed to reduce the amount of stretching.

That’s very interesting. Thanks a lot for the insight.

I also reckon a wee bit of stress must be somehow beneficial. Like vines need stress to make good wine. In my case, I probably took it a bit too far and here I am with a hermie…

Final update: chopped her and dried for a couple of weeks before leaving it to cure in grove bags.

I have tried some small buds and found a few seeds alright, but nothing bothering for my kind of consumption, I.e. fairly occasional.

One of the three small buds used so far didn’t even have one seed.

Very tasty already and very potent. So altogether I am very pleased with what I got from her and glad I didn’t chopp it. Also knowing that it was my first and only plant in the tent.

The few extra seeds will also make nice Xmas gifts!

Thank you all very much for help and comments.

Lovely end of the year to all and happy Christmas!

I have my lights on 24/7 in veg & when I flip the lights I don’t do it gradually.
I’ve never had a hermi from it.

The last time I had a hermi was before fem seeds when I was running regulars & that was probably my fault bar one witch was down to genetics

Never had a modern day fem hermi

I wouldn’t use the seeds or give them to anyone I cared about as they will probably carry the hermi trait ok you’ll get a high % of females however you will also get hermies

Honestly take it from experience there not worth the hassle

Tbh I wouldn’t of advised you to kill it either not when you only had one
