i wanna go pop one to now haha. ive got this legit bubblegum runtz seed ive been meaning to pop for a while. i might give it a try👍 i only have one though😅

I have 4 litter boxes, but I bet Mike has all of us beat. Was going to get one of those self-cleaning litter boxes until I saw a woman hysterically crying, explaining she found her cat hanging from it dead. No thanks.
Yes… 5 boxes hahaha. We like a box per cat, they only use em once per day each and the wife cleans them all 3 times through the day so there’s never any smell

We literally keep them all in a line and the cats each use their own 🤣

Morning animal feeding (birds and chipmunks) 🤣 every morning haha greedy ass chipmunks haha

Don’t mind the wife making sauce in the background lol… oh and it’s pizza sauce lol

PIZZA DAYYY

My male is huge. Got him down a few pounds, he weighs 20 now. He's tall and long, not just fat. Just a big cat. Have to be very careful when putting them on a diet because losing too much weight too quickly can kill them.

He was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. Got really sick the only time ive ever left them for more than 2 days in their entire lives. Go figure. It was a very scary time when I got home. Didn't have 10k for the emergency vet, so I was the ER for him, feeding tube and all. I have to check his blood glucose 4 times a day and give him 2 shots a day. I have removed all kibble out of their diets, as there are only a couple brands that make low carb kibble and it is outrageously prices. Gave both my cats GI issues anyway. They only get canned low to medium carb foods now. I went through a few vets before settling on a feline only vet. Even veterinary medicine is like our Healthcare with kickbacks from food companies. Purina makes a prescription food that is outrageous and supposed to be for diabetic cats, but it is 30% carbs. Cats are obligatory carnivores. They shouldn't have carbs really and if they get them, they should be 30% carbs. Purina was sued for that food and had to remove the word diabetic from the label. Yet, vets still push it because of kick backs. They also refuse to entertain any convos about raw diets. He loves raw deer meat, I've just been out for awhile. I also mix in a supplement so it is nutritionally dense.

Bringing my cat back from death's door and watching him now thrive, running around the yard, I'm not taking chances and I don't care who with a degree that offends.
My cat is so tiny lol

She's like 4 lbs. But thats also why she does so well outside. Shes SO fast. She can literally full-tilt sprint right up the face of a tree too. She'll dive bomb rabbits from like 6-8ft up in a tree. She'll sleep on the rail of my 2nd story deck. Shes been blown off but always totally unhurt.

Im not even sure how she tangles with rats and squirrels and wins as small as she is. When she catches a rat in the garage it sounds like a fist fight. Worst she ever comes out with is a scab or two, and my Chesapeake retriever (a damn hunting dog) has been scared of the rats ever since the first one bit him. Up here in the rural mountains, Moose is quite literally the only thing keeping rats out of the house.

She doesnt leave "gifts" either. She eats her kills even though she always has food in her bowl. Shes never had any health problems that i know of, and dont recall her ever being sick. But she was a feral cat to begin with, over half her diet is what she hunts herself as nature intended etc. A 4 lb bag of food lasts me well over a month with her.

She will wake me up in the middle of the night yelling at me if i let her food bowl run empty though, even when she isnt hungry 🤣

Ill take any excuse to talk about moose on the internet :3 She only costs like $40 a year to take care of. And i rarely have to clean a cat box or anything. Usually only during winter. There is no single aspect of moose that isnt a joy to live with, somehow. All my friends hate her though because she doesnt like them lmao.

Moose sounds like a cat's cat. Love her.

My female is super tiny too and fast. Meaner than hell to the other animals. Has zero fear for her brother that is 4xs the size of her. She'll box whoever as the walk by, including the pit mix. Hahaha

I never realized how important the outdoor activities were for them. I was always so afraid something would kill them. While they don't run the streets, they are outside in my backyard 40% of the day. It has not only improved their health, but they are happier because of what they get to experience outdoors. Chasing insects and now moles, watching the birds, trying like hell to catch chipmunks.

I'm the same way when it comes to talking about my cats. Always thought I was strictly a dog person. My soul dog waited for me to get home from work to die in my arms. I've never gotten another dog since then. 2 years after he died, on the same day he died, these newborn cats came into my life. Their mom had been killed and they needed someone. Had zero clue what I was doing. All 3 of them survived though. That was 11 years ago. Same syringe was used for feeding. You can see how small Moonshine is compared to her brothers. What a wild ride it was with these newborn kittens, feeding them every 2 hours, burping them, helping them go to the bathroom, keeping them warm and clean.

This one always gets me as the first hallucination I had on shrooms was sitting on the can and watching the walls breathe. Noticed it was just me breathing pretty quick but damn that was fun🤣

My parents house has suspended ceiling tiles and natural wood grain doors in the basement where my bedroom was as a teenager. You could get lost looking at either when you were tripping. I remember it exactly like you described it. The ceilings would breathe. Wood grain would really freak me out when I started identifying all kinds of creatures and faces that would “come out of the wood work” . Yeah I don’t know if it’s a good thing that most of my favorite memories from my teenage years were of those times when I was tripping my balls off with my friends. I remember eating micro dots in the wintertime and witnessing the rare occurrence of thunder and lightning during a snowstorm at night time, driving around with my friend in the 88 chevy nova hatchback. I definitely got behind the wheel way too many times on hallucinogens as a kid, five tabs of lsd and we smoked some weed with a little hash in it. Bam all of sudden I’ve got a mile and a half long drive home with the yellow and white lines slithering left and right the whole time.

I have a similar relationship with cats, I had a beautiful female pitbull who lived to be 15 years old and when she passed I had pretty much sworn off getting another dog, it was just too much of a loss for me. Well fast forward a couple years and I started dating my girlfriend. We moved in together and she brought with her a six year old son, two 15-17 year old lap dogs, a pair of hamsters, and a grey old house cat that she swore was mentally disabled. She had recently lost her Maine coon, from a roommate who had let it outside, and it never came back. She kept telling me how great they are and how much they are like dogs and how they’ll change your life for the better. Well with in two years we’d lost both dogs to old age and both hamsters, and we were down to a single cat. We moved into our new home that fall and bought our first Maine coon, Milo

The next year we had to buy Milo a friend, because he was fifteen years younger than our grey cat Meep, so we brought home Molly

I remember when we brought her home she probably thought her name was “she’s so fucking cute “ because that’s all anyone could say when they met her 😍. Well a couple years later Meepy passed away 😞 she was 17-18 years old and had had a great life.

So we started talking about getting a third Maine coon. Meet Miller

So were back to three cats again, as well as a hamster, leopard gecko, and painted slider. Here’s a rare photo of all three of them together without any fighting 🤣

The same thing happens to the mind and body of a cat stuck inside a house 100% of the time that happens to incarcerated long term solitary confinement prisoners, mental and physical health wise both. A cat that made it 10 years being allowed to live outside lived 5 times the life a cat that made it 18 years inside a house. Pretty much guaranteed.

I have a friend whos mom had a declawed, indoor only cat. She forms her entire view of cats around that one she used to have. "I dont like cats because...", cats are assholes because... etc etc etc.

That cat wouldnt have been all those things if she hadn't robbed it of literally everything in life that it enjoys and locked it in prison for nearly 20 years. When i was younger i would see her get so pissed off at that cat just for meowing at closed doors all the time, even though they only do that because they feel trapped. Leaving interior doors closed all the time around an inside only cat doubles down on the mental health effects too. Shes smack it in the face like a dog if it got too noisy. She had it declawed as a kitten during that rambunctious phase where they learn to defend themselves and fight (very important you play with your kitten a lot during this phase and just deal with the scratches too lol)

That woman still hates cats souly and exclusively because the one she got was not a fan of the prison warden (her). The cat liked me too, and she hated it even more for that.

its an unpopular opinion with many people, but personally, i think if you cant let a cat be a cat, dont get a cat lmao (im not trying to shame or guilt anyone i promise) . After working for almost a decade at a veterinary clinic thats my sisters opinion, so its what i default to.

I had another 10 paragraphs typed out and deleted them. 🤣🤣🤣. I'm sure people are tired of my rambling about my cats.

I am so glad that you guys, along with a few others here, get it.

We could start a feline thread and just talk cats all day. Love those lil aliens trapped in mammals bodies so very much.
