I germinated my seeds paper towel method for 36 hours. The second I saw any taproot form I put them in my coco mix. I put them probably about an inch down. I may be inpatient but nothing is breaking surface now and I wanted to know some things.

How long does it take for the seed to break through? It’s been in the soil, only damp and proper environmental conditions for now 36 hours. Did I plant it too deep? How long should I wait before attempting with new seeds again? I figured I’d wait up to 7-10 days and if nothing popped through it’s safe to assume they won’t sprout.

Rooting is a priority. It can take several days and can try our patience. I sometimes start scraping the soil away after I've lost my patience. If I see green, I scrape the soil back and keep waiting. That isn't a good test, though.

When I did my first grow it took I think 5 days to sprout put em in the dirt on I think the 24th of June they sprouted ab June 30th I also germinated by putting the seeds in water and waited for them to fall/pushed and fell to plant they had ab a 3in tap root I think

Did you plant in final pot or start them in seedling trays or solo cups to be transplanted later?

Can we have a picture of where they're planted?
Just want to see medium and how wet it is, overwatering and dampening off is higher risk when plants are starting out.

I did 36 hours in paper towel. They popped with very small taproot. Using Dutch Passion genetics. I planted them about an inch down on November 1st at 1:30AM. Here in Illinois it is now 2:25 PM on November 2nd. I did just adjust my lights. I had them at the top of the tent at 40 percent, I have now moved them down to 30” at 50 percent. I will attach a picture my dude.

I also had domes on them but my humidity is staying fine with this setup so I removed them,

Also I planted them in their final pot. Not transplanting autos I was afraid they couldn’t handle the stress.

If you dropped it wrong way it will first grow in the wrong way then start going back top.it can take 5-10 days especially if the dirt was soft and then you watered pushing it even deeper

I mad sure to put them in root down but water may have moved them. I will bow be using a dropper in seedling stage going forward to control intensity of water. I poured it on yesterday after planting with a regular watering can.

It sounds like it’s going to have to be a waiting game and not to mess with it.

Also I forgot. I’m using Mars Hydro FC-E3000 at 30” right now at 50 percent dim.

If your tap root was just coming out then it will take a few days.
I would keep the humidity domes off, I never really liked to use them even when humidity is low. Domes take away fresh air IMO and I've seen some watering issues from people that the dome only made worse.

I use only a spray bottle to water until a few days after sprout.

What is your soil temp?
Don't be afraid to let your tent temp go over 80 until they sprout, they like a warm environment to get them going.

Heat mats when soaking your seeds or using the paper towel method when germinating will go a long way.

With lights, less is more. I'm usually around 30% and 30" until middle of veg, sometimes all the way till flower. Never over 40% and under 30" until flower.
This is for all my lights, AC Infinity Ionframe Evo3, Spider Farmer SE4500, x2 Vivosun VS4000, and HLG Scorpion RSpec 600.
Haven't found a light yet that I didn't run at the same height and dimmer settings during seedling/veg stage.

I have learned that for seedlings it needs to be from .6-.8 veg .9-1.1 and flower 1.1-1.5

I’m using the ac humidifier and inline fan to control these. It continuously stays at .7 kPa and is stable. I simply need to get my lights and planting/watering down. I took the domes off. I also have a soil tester and going to get batteries for it asap to let you know but it’s stay a solid 77F in the tent since the beginning of germination.

Currently I have the MH FCE3000 at 30” and at a level of 3/10.

Those are my current automation settings on the controller. First one is inline fan, second is the light and the third is the humidifier.

You don't need ANY lights until they break the surface, but you DO need the heat. Newty made good points.
I usually plant more like 1/2" down, and usually after the taproot is around 1/4" or more. I don't like to put it too far down, as I've had to dig them out on a rare occasion after a few days. Once they break the surface, I hit them with gentle light. They will tell you what to do from there.
