Hey all...

Tent arrived today, my 1st tent, 3x3x6 39", going to get it ready for seedlings. Shooting for 2 plants at first. They are auto from mix pack, so i dunno what strain it will be, but I'm told i wont be disappointed. Got to get tent ready with correct temp/RH, using organic soil 70%, 30% HFrog and going to hook up the humidifier tomorrow. After that I think I'm ready to blast off....... cant wait....this will be where i will update my indoor grow experience. 🔥

I dunno what the hell im growinguess the strain

I have a 25 pack of those lol
I've grown 1 so far.
I looked through the pictures on Fast Buds website and it looked like a bunch of them so couldn't even really narrow it down lol.

If this is your first grow, you may want to try photoperiods first.
Photoperiods are much more forgiving and less prone to stress.
Plus you're not on a time schedule like Autos, Autos flower automatically so you need to keep up with things and not put anything off.

I've grown Photoperiods with no issues for years, a couple months ago I grew 1 mystery Auto and I'm currently in flower on 3 Blackberry Auto and I've had pretty big issues with both grows.
I've never dealt with any of these issues growing photoperiods so I'm having a rough time getting it straightened out.
If I had no experience growing then they would probably be dead.

Yea, I'm not a big fan or Ruderalis, but i need some quick bud, tired of buying it. Plus i'll get to see how it compares in potency, smell, taste, appearance compared to photos. I'm grabbing "Mango Sherbert" next week in photo. Just 3 seeds. Hopefully the auto will start to flower in week 4 or 5. I don't plan to give a lot of nutes cause i have the ocean forest soil. Hopefully just watering will do until flower and maybe give it some bloom booster at low strength like a week after it starts to flower. I dunno that's the plan. I should grab some cal-mag and some organic nutes just in case.

Does anyone recommend RHIZOTONIC or its not needed? Isn't that for clones?

My first Auto was in 2 parts Ocean Forest to 1 part Happy Frog, same mix I use for photoperiods.
I usually get 4-6 weeks without nutrients.
Ocean Forest seems to be easier on young plants when mixed with Happy Frog compared to straight Ocean Forest.

Flower is when my issues appeared.
It's almost like the buffers in the soil ran out and made my soil ph high causing Calcium toxicity and possibly phosphorus fall out.

First sign was lower leaves starting to yellow and then brown in the middle of them and spread toward the tips.
Not saying it will happen to you, just sharing my experience so you can keep a look out.

Idk if you decided on pot size but go for 5 gallon or bigger.
I use 3 gallon for photoperiods so I went with the same for autos, let's just say next grow the autos are getting 5 gallon lol.

Thanks for the info. Yep, 5 gallon fabric pots. 4 of them came with the tent kit and some CHEAP ASS meter i cant set to F. tried for like 20mins, cant seem to flip it from C to F. Eh...

Sowed 2 auto seeds. - had Dad pick out 2 random seeds out of 10.
Temp 77F, RH 65%
PPFD 255. When i see green I'll turn on the light.

Hopefully will see green in 2/3 days.

Did you ever figure out how to put that thermometer to Fahrenheit?

Sometimes cheaper ones will have either a small switch or button on the back or in the battery compartment that you have to push with a pen tip or something.

I would find a good thermometer that has a wire and probe on that you can hang right in the middle of the plants at canopy level so you always know temp and humidity right at the plants.

AC Infinity makes some that you can connect to their app, I'm sure there's other brands that make wireless viewing also.

Acurite makes really accurate thermometers/hygrometers. They are not a grow company, just a weather device company.
They're the only devices I'll use to measure my temp and humidity in my reptile enclosures, don't trust anything else.

Nope. I checked the device, sticking toothpicks in any hole i can find, 😉nothing in battery compartment. I'm using 2 new ones, one has the wire & probe which is from the mars hydro 5l, pic below. this thing is nice, very accurate.

the other one i'm using, below, is non-wire.

MH is sending me a wire & probe sensor and a display (i hope) I also hope it will control the 4" carbon/fan via automation. So ill be able to set tent temp and if it gets too hot, it will kick on and cool the tent. (it was missing from my order. it may be just be a thermometers/hygrometers display.) but anyhow I need a master controller to automate everything so things are easier.

Since I've added the soil to the pots today, you can smell it in the room a little. Smells like clean organic dirt. I also noticed when the tent RH is say 80% and i turn on the 4" carbon fan, it sucks the humidity right out of the tent, then the humidifier kicks on. After week 6/7 when things gets stinky, I'll need to run the carbon fan. That will throw off the humidity in the tent. - How do you balance the two? Just run carbon fan when smell is out of control? Run both humidifier & carbon fan at same time? When it stinks do you run the carbon fan until harvest?

If you hadn't already gotten Mars Hydro fan, I would say get AC Infinity fan and Controller 69.
Controller 69 controls everything you could think of putting in a grow tent/room.
Now they just released an AI controller that learns from the environment to control equipment better.

In flower, you are only going to want 40%-50% humidity.
Exhaust fan should run all the time, even in veg. You want to exchange the air so many times per minute.

My exhaust fans run on level two 24/7 and only go up speed when they go 78 or over.

Even if you have the exhaust on the lowest speed, it takes all the humidity out?
You are going to have to play around where you have your equipment.
Humdifier tube may need to be lower in the tent opposite side the exhaust fan is sucking from so the mist gets pulled from the bottom of the tent, up and across before it exits so it circulates more through the tent.
Make sure to have a drip pan under your humidifier tube so you don't get water all over your floor.

How many flaps you have open on the bottom?
Having only 1 open, opposite side the exhaust is sucking so air flows across tent may help keep humidity in as well.

yeah i noticed the water from the tube...going to add the pan, have it right here.

I'll run the carbon fan on its lowest setting right now, I'll run the fan for 3mins.

I ran the fan on its lowest speed for 3mins, RH only went down 1% to 79%RH from 80%.
PXL 20241108 022656905MP

Then I ran the fan on 5% and the RH dropped 10%. to 70%RH in 2mins.

I guess we'll see once the plant is grown a bit, just compare how it looks with the pictures, right?

3 days. No signs of life. temp 76F / RH 80%. soil moist. no light.
If the seeds are still under the medium, turn on the light and run it 24 hours.
The medium will keep them in a dark place, once they sprout they will need light anyways.
The reason I'm saying to turn on the light though is so the light heats up the medium more, they need a moist and warm environment to germinate properly.
I germinate my seeds on a heat mat at 85 degrees.
When I plant, I turn on my lights and run around 83-85 until they break ground.

turned light on. moistened soil. hopefully they will pop. (80F / 75%RH)
should i lower the light to say 24" above the pots or just wait till i see green?

Paper towel method i do.

12 - 24 hrs soak in water and if no tap roots, throw into paper towel. Usually a day or two they pop. Then once planted it takes another day an half - 2 days to reach above soil.

You're probably close. Give it until day 5ish and you'll see em.

Depends on how fresh/vigorous those seeds are.

I will be watching you. I just got my tent too! I haven’t even set it up yet. I can’t wait! I am SUCH a newbie!

This…great advice!

You can lower the light, if the light is closer then it will heat medium more.
The light may dry the medium out faster, drying out a little is good but just keep an eye on it and spray when needed.
