I have 2 3.5 week old white widows that are starting to preflower. I have another 4 more seedlings aged 1 week and I have never done this before but I've noticed some of the leaves blocking others and generally the plant is bushy! I heard you can't snip the big fan leaves? Can anyone possibly tell me where to take a few leaves off?

Thanks s bunch

When I remove healthy fan leaves, it's for one of three reasons: 1) they're shading a bud site, 2) they're so dense that I worry about adequate air flow, or 3) it's the beginning of flower and I'm lollipopping to remove growth that will never make it to the canopy. I don't think you have those issues at this stage of the grow. Not saying that's "right," but it's how I think about it.

Most recommended to remove leaves during the first 20ish days of signs of flowering. Recently I have been removing leafs whenever but I’m careful only to remove a handful at a time every other day.

Remove leafs where bud sites look congested so light and air can penetrate better. This doesn’t have to happen all at once better to spread out over several days. If you have a congested bud sites, the inside of the flower does not get light and will not develop the trics wanted.

As long as your plant is healthy, I have not noticed any signs of damage to my plants removing leafs during flower, even though most recommend not to during mid/late flowering.

Don’t go crazy but also don’t be afraid to remove leaves when needed. Leafs are Iike solar panels so do be thoughtful when cutting. I would say the earlier the training begins, the better your late flower game will be.

Remove the ones under her skirt where the light doesn't hit as much.

Well I think I butchered them. should of left it, I'm an absolute idiot I was just worrying as people said I need to prune now... Fcckkk

You’re fine don’t stress. It’s all a learning experience for the next grow. We tend to forget these plants are really just weeds and can actually take a lot of abuse.

More importantly, the plants seem to be healthy which tends to be the more difficult part I think.

If you’re interested in training tutorials, this mainlining one is great and really fun to do! Again it’s takes practice, I’m on my 10ish cycle and still learning techniques each time.

From what I read I've left half of the fan leaves which were blocking a lot of other leaves and grow sites, snipped off a few leaves that looked like they were droopy and blocking other leafs. Yep, exactly first grow I have some pretty decent equipment and as you can see I have 4 more white widows in the tent and also 5 more seeds ready if needed.

Hopefully I have somehow done this right! I'll be on YouTube tonight for a few hours haha

One thing I wanted to ask if anyone is ready is that if I have autos running the same light schedule but ones in veg and others flower they require different humidity levels.. how does that work? I've seen a lot of people growing seedlings up to flowering plants in the same tent?

Also your method what's your setup, and yield? I was gonna LST but decided not to because it's the first grow

Don’t know about your autos but I’m sure someone else will chime in. For the humidity, I bet if stays in the 50-55% range it would be just fine for both. I would suggest another small tent for veg purposes.

Started growing about 4 years ago and I have only tried the mainlining technique which I really enjoy playing with. I Lst train all the time to help get my mains more sperad out evenly to get better light and bulkier colas. I have accidentally supper cropped/hst and experienced an explosion of growth. So now I’m not afraid to bend or even break stems, just make sure it supported correctly when it fattens up. I’ve also experienced my mains split down the middle of the stock and just used medical tape to wrap and support, no issues down the road.

Also use a good silica when watering to help strengthen up stems and prevent falling over colas.

Small sealed up setup 4x4 with hlg scorpion Diablo, ac infinity t7 humidifier, co2 supplement mainly because of the light is way over kill… it’s a hobby so I focus on quility over quantity. Last plant did 6oz dryed times 2 plants. Extremely happy with the quality and so are my peers. I do not like my plants to grow so big that the walls are filled.

420 scene YouTube Channel has been very helpful for me over the years. He’s straight to the point and matches my grow style.

In a week or so they’ll look like the never were clipped

They look a little droopy today.. look better now though hopefully not much stress

Looks good, too early to remove leaves. I've seen growers fold/bend/tuck fan leaves away, instead of cutting them. Especially near bud sites. Your plant needs those leaves to grow. Until it gets out of control, like blocking bud sites, then defoliate. People usually water after cutting, helps avoid stressing/shocking the plant.

Seem to have recovered. Hopefully get some stretch soon and start to see some blooming... I thinks he has nute burn though.. I was late adding the nutrients, I am thinking of just using TOP MAX and Bio grow now instead of all 3 together as suggested? I've moved the seedlings into a smaller tent under a 1001 light and turned the lights up to 100% as I guess they are flowering now?

they look OK. do you know what week you're in? The best thing is to use 1/2 the dose of nutrients. So if they say use 4ml in week 6, only use 2ml. Yes, you can combine them, BUT you should follow the schedule here.
