So if I'm understanding you correctly that could include a pre-made fertilizer? I was thinking an original recipe of single ingredient amendments. No commercial pre-made fertilizers. But I'm open to whatever we come up with. 👍 But definitely down for water only. I guess that would mean no molasses/carbs watered in too, huh.
I think including pre-made fertilizers will entice some members that have limited or no experience growing organic to join the contest.
Strictly soil. Mix it yourself. Water only all the way to finish. No adding nutrients no re amending. Water only. Have a mix date let it bake for two weeks. Then plant and water only.
So no doing anything to the soil for flower? Just water till harvest?
I'll have to do some studying to have a shot of accomplishing that lol

It's new to me but I'm up for a challenge.

I'm not huge on slow release ferts but in this one it's make sense for P and K.

Been working on that puzzle. Some things I've read lately have completely changed my thinking about building soil and it explains some things. I was looking for something else when I stumbled across it.
I have a couple different batches of soil that I want to try out. One I'm running now in an improvised 1 gal SIP that I put together if I had more than one seed pop for the 1 gal challenge. Attempting a monster crop manifold type thing. It should be interesting. I have one in mind that I could use for this but it needs one more thing....maybe. Haven't decided yet.

Here is the 1 gal SIP. I took the bottom out of this worthless planter that nothing will grow in. It's supposed to drain off water but actually fits flush with the bottom so it didn't really do anything. I inverted it and put it in the bottom of a coffee container, added a scrap piece of pvc and a soil mix. Soil from my summer grow amended with alfalfa, kelp, garden compost, ocean fish compost, ewc and minerals. Seems to be working ok so far.

Add pumice for aeration. Should be about a 1/3 of the mix.

Thanks. It's in there. Substrate is roughly 1 part peat moss, 2 parts arbor fines and 1 part a mix of pumice/perlite (horticultural and #4). Soil is 2 parts substrate, 1 part compost and 1 part ewc + alfala, kelp and minerals (Gypsum, Azomite, Basalt, glacial rock dust, Epsom salts, humic acids).

Used soil strikes again 👊🏻🤡
I’m on my fourth run in half my grow atm.
I scratch my head over it from time to time.
I have more than a few plants in reused FFOF soil. Money is tight. I’m using FF bottle nutes and 3 soluble, Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching.

Any low cost suggestions as to what else to add? Thanks

Strain - White Runtz x Okie
Type - Photoperiod
Germ/Seedling Medium - Happy Frog
Veg/Bloom Medium - Pro-Mix HP Mycorrhizal
Nutrients - Synthetic (Flora Series)
Pot Type/Size - 4.4 liter Air Pot, base moved up 2 rows to make closer to 1 gallon.
Days in Flower (12/12) - 49

Still quite a few white pistils.

Nutrient solution I had mixed up is gone now, will be decreasing N and adding more P and K.
Probably should of done it sooner but didn't want to waste what I had mixed up

CALiMAGic - 5 ml/gal
Flora Micro - 5 ml/gal
Flora Gro - 5 ml/gal
Flora Bloom - 5 ml/gal
Hydroplex - 5 ml/gal

I'm trying man, not bad for the late start 😊

She's been thirsty lately.
Don't even think about letting the pot dry out a little or branches will fall 😅

I wish I could of kept her spread like she was in veg and early flower but once the buds got heavier, there was no stopping them from dropping.
Would of been better for light penetration but would of taken to much time and manipulation to keep it.
Maybe I need to work on thickening up my branches in my grows, then they could support themselves 🤔

I didn't do very well capturing how many white pistils there still is but it looks like I still have a bit of time to try and pack on some weight.
