So I’ve got two plants growing now.
I have a 2x2x3 tent with oscillating fan, humidifier at 60rh/76F, and a Vivosun S1000E light at the very top of the tent. Both plants get watered when the top of the soils feels dry. 18/6hr light cycles, temp drops to about 68F when the lights off.

The first plant has been SOL since the beginning, but it continues to grow slow, and light colored. Lots of yellowing. I’ve wanted to give up but I almost am treating it like a lab rat since I’ve gotten 6 green crack seeds that I want to grow. I just can’t stop the problem. Here is a couple pics, and remember this plant is at just over a month old…..

The second one is one of the green crack seeds I tried to get going. It started good and I was super excited as I thought it was just a problem with the other seed. I open my tent today to see it’s getting brown spots on the leaves, and the second sets that are coming out have a couple spots as well. This plant is on day 9.

is my light too powerful? If so can I place something over my plant to “dim” since I can’t dim my light? Am I watering too much, maybe let the soil dry for another day or two? I’m stuck and I wanna figure this out. The first pic is the original seed the second one is the green crack I just planted. All pictures were taken just now.

Over-watered, which means you're watering too often. Speedbumps between the leaf veins are the giveaway. Correct watering frequency is driven by the media's water retention properties, and the relationship between the plant size and the pot size. I don't know anything about your soil, but you have a tiny plant in a big pot. This is going to sound extreme, but I'd try at least a week of dryback, maybe more. Feeling the top of the soil doesn't give a good indication of water content. Pot weight is better.

I don't like the look of the soil, too much bark/chips/twigs/stems, that is probably sucking the nitrogen out of the soil, but in any case the plant is also showing signs of poor root growth, either the soil is badly compacted and/or it's overwatered.

The soil looks it would benefit from some perlite or something similar. Will help with drainage and prevent the soil from compacting. ✌️

10-4, loud and clear. I have no problem with an extended dry period at all if that’s what you recommend. I will do that. You think I should just go for a better median in the long run? If so, what would you recommend?

I thought the same when I opened it but I don’t have too much knowledge on what’s good/bad, ya know? I am definitely all for getting a better median if you have any recommendations. I feared I was over watering….seems to be the common factor here.

Understood. You think just adding some, or getting a whole new median will be a better choice? Im asking multiple people sorry for the annoyance lol. Trying to get a common product.

The trick with media is figuring out how to feed and water it. I grow in coco. Before that, I ran FoxFarm soils. It all works. You can grow in Lego bricks if you figure out the watering.

The thing with perlite is you want it to be all mixed in with soil. If your seedlings workout, I would mix some in or use some soil with it already added in when you up pot.

If you didn’t know, perlite is the small white chunks. Lots of commercial soils have it already mixed in.

Okay I gotcha. That makes sense, I saw some people growing in a pot of pebbles lmao. I appreciate all the help I’ll do what you said and update later one.

I will definitely do it on the next pot switch. I thought that’s what it was but wasn’t sure, I will get some with it pre mixed in for sure. That sounds super helpful
