Hello guys!

My very first time growing and I don't know exactly if it goes well...which doesn't look like. I am going on the way to 4th week since germination. 2 kali mist and 2 white russian from serious seeds.

I am growing in pure coco with canna coco A+B, Rhyzotonic and cannazym.
At the moment I am follow their chart and giving 1ml coco A B, 1 ml Rhyzotonic and 1.25ml of cannazym in 1l water for 4 pots 1l. So 250ml +- forneach pot with some run off. I was watering every day but a friend told me to not let the coco dry but at the same time not watering every single day. So at some point I was watering once per day with nutes during a week +- but the leaves were always down, so I decided follow my friend advise and water once that the top coco is starting to dry. And 2 times watering with nutes and 1 just ph water. I am feeding them with 5.9ph. Lights were 100% on a TS1000 150w from marshydro. Since yesterday I went down with the light to 75%. Have it now at 50cm height too.

My thing is, after watching so many videos and different ideas about coco I am kind lost in the middle of all that😅 I am trying to find my way somehow, but I am having some troubles. Do you know why the leaves are like that? Someone have some nice advices to give about it? Do you know why the leaves are like that?

Sorry my English as well, as I am not native speaker. And I am stoned af😅

Really appreciated for your time guys🙏🏽

I’d say add some cal-mag it has a compesition of nitrogen, calcium, and magnesium.

Are you going to up pot? What is your water source? What coco are you using (brick or bagged)? Was it buffered and washed?
He metioned, “I am growing in pure coco with canna coco A+B, Rhyzotonic and cannazym.”

Btw, @kin88 what pH? I usually do 5.8 for coco

Saying he’s growing in pure coco means there’s no perlite and I didn’t ask about his nutrient line. Maybe I’m missing something. Water source, brand of coco, buffered and washed?

Heard,

my bad, I misread 😂

Yes, I will pot up on next weekend when I have a bit of free time with my crazy work shifts. I wanted to do a couple of days ago but no energy for that in the end of the day. My day cycle start at 9pm. And It would be better transplant them with a bit of time and preferably when they wake up?
I am doing tap water, 400ppm. I know, that's a bit heavy, but I am thinking in buy a RO water system.
Coco is also from canna. Profissional +, so I assume that washed and buffered too.
Thank you for replying!

That water is pretty hard. If you switch to ro water you’ll need to put in some calmag even with the canna nutrients. Canna coco is great. You’ll want to feed every water and not let the pots dry out. I can’t really give you advice on how much to feed because I’ve never started with water that hard. You could have a ton of calcium in there that will be throwing the balance off. I run to water from Walmart to not mess with the ro system. 40 cents a gallon. At the stage you’re in I would be running 150-200 ppm calmag and another 200-250 ppm of feed. A total of 4-450. With a lot of runoff. Test your runoff too. See if you have a buildup.

Yes, it is I know :/ but to buy 5L distilled water, it costs me 3€ (i am living in Europe and even RO wtaer system is not used almost at all...our water is pretty good to drink, but not so sure for feeding marias . But even on canna feeding chart it counts 400ppm from tap hard water...but I think I will cut half of feeding for the moment.
Do you think that I should feed every watering and every day?
Yes, I've doing run off and it doesn't come higher than I water them.

Thank you IIIbill🙌🏾

I would water with nutrient water everyday. When I up pot I give them a day of nutrients and a day of drying for a week or 2 to try to promote the root spreading a little but keep an eye on your runoff. The ppm can build up some when you give them a day off. If your ppms are coming out the same as you put in then they’re probably a little hungry. Not sure what ppm is going in but i would try to add 250-300 ppm of canna nutrients. If it starts building up with the one day of water then back it down a little. This is just what I would do. Everyone does things a little differently. I also grow in 5 gallon air pots. Everyone says 3 gallon max. 5 works way better from what I’ve experienced.
*disclaimer* I’ve used canna before but it’s been more than a decade so keep an eye on buildup and burnt tips lol.

I’ve never grown in coco but I thought perlite improves drainage (offsetting the higher frequency of watering). Your soil looks like there’s no perlite in it.

Any coco grower want to comment?

I’m also wondering why one of the 4 plants has only 3-finger leaves. Which cultivar is that one? The other 3 plants look vigorous.

I will do that. I started already a few days ago, one day watering and a day of drying. Like i told you, will up pot in two days, so i will feed them tonight and then will transplant on Saturday🤞🏼 have some Great white tonattack on it as well💪🏽
That's what i thought. Watering every day with nutrients. I will up pot to a 5gal as well as I will be hand watering all the time.
I definitely have to go for a water low in tds. Was watching some Waterdrop RO water system and will install a tankless one.
If run off is ok, can I leave it on the saucers? Or should I clean it up after?

I will be careful with nutes on the next weeks, probably i will go half of what canna says.

yeah, I've seen a lot of different opinions abiut canna lol what do you think in general about canna?😅

It takes a lot of commitment with the ladies, but I won't give up💪🏽

Cheers for helping out👊🏾

2 of them are kali mist and 2 white russian. The smaller one is kali mist, but had some issues at the beginning, now looks way better than it was. Both are from Serious Seeds.

I decided not had perlite because I think it is a waste as coco have a high capacity for holding oxygen as it works as a sponge basically. But it is my first time. And had some issues with temperatures at the beginning and humidity. After I had my inside tent full minerals build up from the humidifier working constantly in there. One day I woke up and the leaves were full of water marks, the mineral build up and as I am using tap water, it can be a pain in the a**. So now I am using thr humidifier outside, using distilled water sometimes or tap water, but cleaning it constantly because of the minerals build up.

Now I have a 24°C constant but humidity are a bit under of it should be. I am running it at 55%

I haven’t really used them enough to give an opinion on them. I know a lot of people use them and I like their coco the best. Don’t let them soak the runoff back up. You want to wash the excess away or it’ll build up. It sucks to manage runoff. I bought some plant risers off Amazon and a tray for muddy shoes at Walmart is 5 bucks. That’s what my plant drips into. I suck the water out with an old shop vac. I would mix some perlite in the final pot. I do 50/50 coco to petite. A lot of people do 30 percent perlite. It helps with drainage and oxygen to the root zone. Fabric pots are really good for coco too. The best way for me to control the nutes is to check the ppm or ec or however you measure it. Botanicares feed chart would have you feeding 2-3 times more than you want. Most of them seem to be that way.

My friend also told me that their brand is well respected and the results that he had back like 6 years ago were amazing with just canna cox A+B and some Rhyzotonic for clones...so I was following his recipe. But not the results that I was expecting somehow. But I will find a way :)
I just fed them tonight, not till run off though. Will watering again in the morning when I get back from work till it run off a bit. Then will wait till after tomorrow night for up pot(here now is 22h35).

I will be careful with the run off and not let the plants suck it back. I have some saucers as well where I will leave it drip.

But if I put some perlite, means that I will probably need to water them more than once per day no? I will just be able to do it once, probably twice a day. That's why I chosen to grow only in coco without perlite. As it holds more the water on the medium, right?
I watering your plants by hand or do you have any system?

I will transplant them to 5gal fabric pots too :)

Thank you brother, will be careful with the run off and already cut the nutrients to half from what canna suggests to feed.
