Thats a great idea! Do you notice the difference? : ) I need to do something asap, these “cooler” temps are kicking the shed heat in the butt!
I hear ya there. We got a cold snap out of left field and now we have a winter storm warning this weekend... as if the summer wasn't fun enough... I'm using a Tuff Shed that was here when we bought the house and had to get heating figured out like lightning this week. I was worried about the wood floor when I built the grow space so underneath the tarp layer of the grow floor, I lined it with a single layer of U-Haul moving blankets. It made a huge difference compared to the side of the floor that is bare wood.

Your grow looks great. 😁

Thanks TGR! Ok so I gotta get some kind of flooring in there! Damn thats going to be a pain! lol! Even if I could get half done now so when the XX’s finish I can jump over to that side and take care of it! Thanks for sharing your experience man!✌️

Edit! Forgot got to say thank you on the grow compliment!😍 Thank you!🙏

I hope this helps. Here's my homegrown science project in the works. I just got two more lights in the mail today so it won't look like this after tomorrow, but underneath the layer of tarp to waterproof the grow area, there are three full U-Haul blankets just like underlayment goes underneath carpet:

thats awesome man! Love the cinderblocks!

I think I could pull something off like what you got with the blanket! It’s just a matter of finding the motivation! lol. I may end up just running this little heater I have until chop. I run my Dehu after waterings and that usually is on for a few days and that heats the space perfectly! : )

The never ending process of optimization, always fun ✌️
If i dialed it all in and didnt have to do anything I would probably quit growing!😆 love the tinkering! : ) also I look at it as a personal challenge : ) ALSO lol im still learning as a beginner so that just throws everything off! Itll be a longer ish road to success because im stubborn and need to fail in my face to see why and how, you know? : ) as always though its amazingly fun and rewarding either way.

Finding the right heater has been a challenge to get one that doesn't click on and off constantly when you're at that margin of shut off / run temp. I did find one that's made by a company called Dreo that I set up this week and it's kept the space at 68 degrees amazingly well. We've had two nights this week under 30 already so I've got high hopes!

I grow partly because I am too poor to buy weed, but I also like the challenge/process. Not to sound egotistical, but my weed is better than the dispo weed in my state IMHO.
Living soil and botany are really up my alley so I am leaning hard into them currently to keep me going.
I have dabbled in hash and someday maybe I'll bred. Got plenty of fuel left for that fire still ✌️

When your outside temps are that low and you’re getting a 68* inside thats awesome!

Im slowly realizing… and I think I’ve said this before in other threads. My space is so dynamic in how I use the outside temps to control things It’s going to take me a few years to really dial in all the seasons lol!!!

I think I'm now living for Mother Nature's curveballs 🤣

Man I hear that! I just smoked through the last of my stash and will need to go re-up today or tomorrow. I have to go to the store this round (found some cash in the couch! Seriously! I was cleaning the couch and found 25 bucks!!!😂) im going to add a few more dollars to that and try and get a nice economical quarter of something : ) I’m really enjoying the learning aspect of all this. My brain categorizes things weird so I’ll be plugging away doing stuff but not learning. Then something else will click because of another scenario and the previous situation will click! Im way broken hahahaa!!!

I spent the first grow managing climate and keeping the plants alive : ) this grow now is applied first grow tactics along with now learning to manage nutes and when they are needed withing the plant cycle. My next grow is going to be focused on more nute management and full on training! I feel like thats where Ill make the biggest gains in end result is with the training! : ) OH AND TIMING! My timing sucks! So I’m being more mindful of that ( getting starts timed to veg vs flower)

Dude not even egotistical! You can absolutely be proud of your efforts, you just know the difference from good home grown to the mass produced store weed : ) Im going to come out and say the stuff I grew my first indoor run was even better than some of the “top shelf”! It just hit different. I know strains can have a huge play in all of it but dang my weed got me high for hours! Even the top shelf high only seems to last an hour or so🤷‍♂️ (and by no means is this me thinking my weed is top shelf😂) I have light years of knowledge to acquire before I would even feel comfortable stating “ I know what im doing here” hahahaha! ❤️✌️

There is always room for improvement 😁 a great attitude to have, I am still a student myself for that reason, there's always more to learn. Next round I am going to use plant stakes and connectors for training and bud support instead of a trellis net like I was planning. I saw Captain with these connectors between his stakes and I thought "wait a minute I have seen those at the store before, that's what they're for?!" haha so I am doing that this time. It will be like a plastic tomato cage for each plant instead of a trellis net so I will be able to move my plants around, I saw a few people on this forum with them and I am going to give them a go this time.

Yeah I LOVE the trellis netting and I HATE the trellis netting!😂 I was just out there this morning and had to stake a plant as it was almost flopping over! Heheh! I do enjoy not having it over the plants this round! Way more freedom like you’re saying to move plants around and what not. You bring up capts clips! Dude, I have stole so many “half or little tidbits” of ideas from others here to make my situation work for me! I love this place! : )

I hear you man, trellis netting is great!.. For bud-runs when say you are growing clones of the same pheno and you know what to expect. Any kind of pheno hunt or test-batch though? I like to be able to pull them out of the tent every 2 weeks and inspect them top to bottom, so a plant cage makes more sense.

Me too man, big time. A huge idea I got from this place was to do with hydrophobic powder balls at the bottom of my buckets after water. I tried everything, couldn't get my powdered products to homogenise, there was always a BUNCH of dark matter at the bottom of my buckets. Searched a few terms on this website, read a comment from years ago of somebody suggesting "Put the powders into a smaller container first with just a tiny bit of water, like less than 1" of water. Grind the powder up with a spoon against the wall of the container and turn it into a paste, then add it to your water.". It worked 😁 a years old comment! Love this place too man, its a great resource of information.

No doubt about it. This first plant of mine was an odds betting favorite to get murdered...but THC Farmer saved her life! Love coming here to read and learn from every experience that is being shared. @BearWater Your set up is bangin, brother!!!

Saturated Saturday (water/feed) and I dropped the light down just a tiny bit more. My only issue at this stage of the grow is room temps. Other than that I have zero complaints! : ) still hugely enjoying the entire process! And I know for sure having the one up with this light and humidifier its showing early on (and thats next to some plants that are no slouches themselves hahaha!) the difference is lights as a big factor, IMO : ) I think If I had some spider farmer big guns over the 5x5 XX space they would look way different at this point! In a good way. Have a great rest of your weekend! View attachment 2323915View attachment 2323916View attachment 2323917View attachment 2323918View attachment 2323919View attachment 2323920
What’s up with the metal chick on a pole giving a blow to her cola?😁

Yeah it really is the place for info! 🤩 not to mention the current members who are willing to help and share their experience is priceless also. I thought I had a sort of mentor when I started this and ended up just rolling solo! a friend recommended this site for a grow diary for instructions. I literally came here to read just that. And have since made awesome friends and continue to learn something new!!!

dude, thank you! Really appreciate the kind words. And im sure itll get rearranged a few more times before im done done! : ) but its feeling more controlled this round.
