Side note while I have you! : ) your Xmas tree challenge plant looks great! I kept my entry around as a humbling reminder that watering mini solos is really hard! 😆 ill be in the next one for sure!
As a kid in the 60's my mom bought me a record of John Glen with NASA officials talking about his historic flight. Watched Star Trek and all the sifi movies dreaming about it for decades and while Shatner got to experience the weightlessness of space at 80+ I'm afraid I won't see those days. Oh well, I had the Jetsons in prime time, what more could I ask for?🤣

I'm gonna make you all wanna join in next year for the classic solo cup Christmas Tree fun these two

is currently laying on mama and doing way better. She hasn't peed in bed all week, getting up and going in her box again. At 15 we were afraid she didn't have much time left but I changed her diet and here we are, eating well and spending more time with us when we're home🥰
There’s a solo cup challenge?

There’s the angry 80 old and there’s ones that can’t stop joking around making you crack up with real life experience. Sadly the older I get it seems the bitter assholes continue to thrive while the good mannered people die off.

I guess my car won this battle. It'll probably still be totaled because of its age.

Old lady ran a stop sign and spun me around. I was still able to drive home but it's squeaking and grinding.

I think anyone over 80 should have a driving test ever couple years. This is the 3rd time I've been fucked up by an elderly person.

Lol , here’s my first lesson. If I were to ever consider it, there’s no pumice going into the cup. Your picture is dully noted. I need to remember that with seedings👊
oooooooo... so i could cut a 4x4 rw cube to fit in it?

*1s pic actual name is Jain, but you get the point (if you get it)

unfortunately where quantum computing is concerned, shear processing power rarely if ever translates directly to raw calculation potential. Just because a q-bit can be tricked into doing calculations for you, definitely does not mean theres a way to access the information in real time.

Theres also usually a long period of time between something like this first being developed and the infrastructure capable of supporting its existence being in place on a large scale.

We are at least a decade or two away from q chip like that actually being implemented in a truly useful way. Like i said, getting q-bits to perform a calculation, unlike current chips, is a completely different task then actually accessing the information provided by the calculations, or even knowing which calculations being performed are the ones you even want the data back from. You can generate data more quickly that a super computer can with that chip, but that data still has to be processed through a standard super computer to even know what data has been produced.

Willow is a milestone leap towards that being a reality. One that took almost 30 years to pull off, and as sits, is still largely incomplete when contrasted to Google's goal of creating a perfectly useable quantum computer. The big change is that now Q-bits can be scaled up effectively at the small scale. In single chips. This will probably result in the accuracy of q-bit based calculations rapidly approaching the accuracy of modern x86 or ARM based computing.

huge step yea, but i have little to zero confidence the quantum computer and AI things will both mature quickly enough to to really have an imp[act on the collapse of geopolitics, climate, and culture that is already quite rapidly underway, unfortunately. One can definitely hope, but i have become rather cynical and jaded on this front.

Willow is a huge step, but the biggest cultural/societal benefit from Willow is probably gonna be the Ad revenue it generates through article clicks, and big-money investors are really gonna start to pay attention now. Willow itself is just a first iteration/proof of concept that quantum computers can indeed, one day, be of practical use/value. We are literally only *just now* figuring that out for sure with Willow. The thing we have spent 30 years or more working on, is possible to do, thats what we know now. Not much else.

Personally i kind of see Willow as comparable to switching from an abacus to vacuum tube based computing in the 1940's as far as the maturity of the technology goes.

My only comment on aliens:. Saving an already doomed species from their selves is a waste of resources. The planet itself will recover on it's own. There's no reason for that. Makes a lot more sense, really no matter how you look at it, to just let us burn and get eaten by the biosphere. Let a species handle itself, and if it cant, it's not something you want around anyway.
i find merit in most everything you have stated. however, i tend to be more optimistic. one thing peter russell pointed out in "the global brain" in 1983; was that no known species had ever created the means to it's own extinction; and theorized that we wouldn't either - that we would somehow be able to make this extraordinary evolutionary leap and project ourselves literally 1000's of years into the future; literally overnight in evolutionary terms. the book talked much about doubling times. i/e the doubling time of total worldwide information 400yrs ago is estimated to be between 300-400yrs. in contrast; in 1983 it was appx 12 months. The doubling time of information today is incredibly fast due to the exponential growth of data and technology. According to some estimates, human knowledge is doubling approximately every 12 hours. now imagine in just a few short yrs, the doubling will be so fast that we don't even have time scales or language to be able to describe it. think of the day when they chop the planc length in 1/2, then in 1/2 again and again... turtles all the way up, and all the way down ad-infinitum. as long as we percieve a "thing" no matter how small, we are going to figure out how to chop it in 1/2. as long as we imagine some bigger, we will always find it. as ive said: turtles all the way up. turtles all the way down. now, if you asked me to, i'd be hard pressed to cite specific sources for all of this. it comes from a lifetime of reading into it and just observing reality as it is. that's about all -peace-

i'm on it brother, today's the day. i just have a lot of work to do. very dry where i'm at, i'll def have to run a dh once i get cranking. i'm just going to be experimenting and fucking around til i get my grove going. it doesn't really matter what happens to this big one as i can correct any mistakes with her clones. i was:
1) curious to see if i was able to get some explosive growth like the old days, i am really just seeing it in this past week. check
2) wanted to show peeps [nubes] the benifit of leaving leaves on until they get fucked up. i've only seen a few plants on here that have gained that much bulk that quick. i know her clones will go on the slab as soon as the roots r out the bottom of a 4" cube, and take the fuck off (unlike their weird ass stunted little mother ) 1st day on slab 20hrs, next day 16, then 12. by the time i hit 12hrs i'll be up to 80-100% on my fold 8 8oo's. 5-7 days of veg feed will blow'em up real quick, 1 week of transition feed then it's off to the races with full bloom formula. this may not work at all... don't care, it's good therapy for me and gives me something to do besides lay eating cheetos and.... well you know... haha
3) i got this bro.... i'm having more fun than i have had in years, so i'm gonna roll with it....
4) ima coming for ya... best be running!
Oh bro, don’t get it twisted I’m a huge fan of leaving leaves on. I really am. That thing is just the equivalent of cousin it man.
I always tell folks man you know a lot of the time just because there’s a leaf covering a note or a potential top site. Doesn’t mean you necessarily need to remove that leaf because you know at the end of the day a covered bud is still gonna thicken. It’s still gonna plump, even though it might be covered from direct light the coloration will just be different a lot of the time sure it’ll be somewhat smaller, but it’s negligible at most so yeah man I totally get that shit. There is a huge benefit. More leaves equals bigger yeilds. that’s what I always say
